Ok. so i have thief 1, but has i explored the forum i saw that almost FM's are in T2(Thief II i think) and Thievery mode too
SO what im asking is, do those FM and Thievery or other FM expansion work in T1 or il have to get T2?

Thievery Is Nothing to do with the actual thief games, its a mod for UT 99, designed to make a multiplayer version of a thiefy game with both human guards and thieves - (

as for the fan missions, i will let someone else post the way of doing it as im having problems with it! but basicly you download a program, darkloader i think it was called (carnt remember :P) and you download fanmissions and open them in that, there are fan missions for both thief 1 and 2, thief 1 fan missions only work if you have thief 1 installed, likewise with thief 2 - if you checked the forums you would find (

You'll have to get T2 for T2 fanmission. T2 has a lot of things T1 doesn't have. Different meshes for basic things (and better, IMO), some different functions, textures, etc. Someone who has done more than 30 minutes of dromeding can probably tell you better 'why'. But yeah, you'll have to get T2 to play it (well worth it, though, IMO. :))
Also there is a program called 'Garrettloader' (available off the Circle, or Thiefmissions.com, I *think*) thats easier, in my opinion, to handle than Darkloader. And it handles all four versions of the thief games, so when you get thief 2, you can use the same 'procedure' to run thief 1 fan missions and t2 missions. Some might prefer darkloader, I just prefer Garrettloader.

no thief gold is an extended version of thief 1 (dark project) follow my link in first post and read that to tell you more. install the game(s), download and install garrettloader, then u link garrett loader to the thief gold , thief gold can play thief 1 and thief gold fan missions but cannot load thief 2 fan missions :) hope that helps :)

ah i was told to download darkloader, i thought there was another one but didnt know which was better :)

I don't know that one is *better* than the other, but I find Garrettloader a lot more straight forward and easy to figure out while getting started, and in flipping back and forth between FMs, the original missions and the different games. Plus it also handles TDS missions, which makes it even nicer.
I'm guessing that when push comes to shove, which you use is really a matter of preference. But I'll recommend the one I prefer and find easiest to use. :)

think i will have to try garrett loader :) i found darkloader easy enough to use, but as Garrett Loader handles Deadly Shadows it seems the better option.. seem to remember reading that it handles T2X and something to do with the future Dark mod wihch is also a bonus :D
