In many cases the various "Display" applications (MSMEDIA, Roxio, ATI video cards, and so on) will default to be THE PLAYER when you install or update them.

As a result you may have two or more trying to decide who should play the file.

Use the options menu on EACH ONE, and in the FILES tab disable all the ones you DON'T want that player to handle.

So you can set MSMEDIA for ASM, WMA, etc. and ATI for all AVI or MPEG files and so on.

I have all the media players on my system set to read and play only specific file types, so I never have a conflict such as you mention.

Try it. It may solve your problem.
