Hmm. This is a ddfix problem I presume, as the bloom thing doesn't really mess with thief? or it could be the d3d9.dll or something?:confused:
Anyhow, remember that 1.1.1 had issues with it to begin with, you are after all downgrading to an older ddfix. This is necessary for enbseries though, because newer ddfix versions use directx6 instead of 9.

Now the 1.1.1 version stretched the main menu to fit with my widescreen, which technically caused more lag in the main menu and preventing me from adjusting the gamma (the way you normally adjust gamma ingame for thief -/+ keys)
(no pic at the moment)
I'm not sure if what you describe was typical of ddfix or not, your best bet for ddfix issues is to go to that thread and inquire further there. (Sorry I can't be of more help, but after all I didn't make ddfix.:p )
I DO know however, that in 1.1.1 the movies lagged and the only way to make them run normal speed was to: a.) move your mouse constantly (which is annoying) or b.) press scroll lock on your keyboard to turn off the text overlays which will allow the movies to play at normal speed. (Then of course pressing scroll lock again afterwards so that you can see text.)
In terms of your screenshots, it appears as if ddfix made your game be a window instead of fullscreen? Did you perchance alt tab to desktop at all? This might be why. It could also be an issue with your widescreen resolution, as at the time Timeslip left custom resolutions in there... he soon removed that because he felt that it is better to use the widescreen patch in addition to ddfix. As you may well know, thief was not meant for widescreen but weakling(?) made a cool little program that allows for a widescreen resolution.:)

No, it's really too weak for DirectX9c
you need a video card that at least supports Shader model 2a, which is the Nvidia 6x00 series and Radeon X x00 series
So basically i can't have the Bloom effect. Well, no big deal :) If anyone is completely bored out of his mind, then i'd be glad if he posts more screenshots of this mod. Maybe with a Fire guy.
Offtopic: So i was wondering. The Haunted Cathedral includes all the sick sick bastards of the evil realm? If so, then i guess the Fire guy is the only immortal bastard. Atleast not killed with my skills and knowledge.

Ok, here are the changes I made, I replaced the version 1.3.11 with 1.1.1 (after downloading the original file from Timeslip's website). Because it is a manual version and already patched with 1.27.1, I only needed to replace the ddfix.dll and ddfix.ini file for the downgraded version. And I'm suprised that it actually works :wot: ! I figured that the ini file is completely different than the later versions of ddfix. If you guys are interested, see for yourself :idea:

You're right about the scrollLock function, though it is pretty frustating to turn it back on to see the text while playing the game :P
From the ddfix.ini (1.1.1) file:
Code:
[Main]
;Screen resolution
gWidth=1280
gHeight=720
;Set to 1 for fullscreen mode mode or 0 for windowed
;If set to 0 the in game gamma controls wont work
Fullscreen=1;Set to something between 2 and 8 to set an antialiasing mode
;If you set this to something your video card doesn't support, thief will crash on startup
AA=4
No there was no Alt Tab involved :laff: *pretends that this never happened*
Time to have some fun in Mines of Margroth :D, in stereo ×]

I use automated ddfix. I have the gui 1.1.1 if you are interested.
I think we are dangerously close (if we didn't already cross the line) to becoming off topic here, so perhaps it would be best to discuss this in a different thread.
"You're right about the scrollLock function, though it is pretty frustrating to turn it back on to see the text while playing the game :P"
Not really, considering pressing one button versus moving your mouse is a lot better.:laff:

Hi taffers,
could you tell me what should I do to set it to fullscreen? This thing is driving me nuts.:mad:
sNeaksieGarrett on 27/10/2008 at 23:34
huh? ENBseries doesn't put it in a window, does it?:confused: Perhaps that is a ddfix issue? Did it run in a window right after enabling enbseries?
Fallen+Keeper on 28/10/2008 at 00:05
Yes. I downloaded the package for Thief from the original post so I don't know what version I have...
Anyway, as soon as I deactivate the patch the game gets back to fullscreen again.

Hmm, that's weird. Sorry I can't be of assistance, probably better asking (
http://boris-vorontsov.narod.ru/contact_en.htm) boris for help.
Good luck.\
I wonder if one of us guys should email him with an enbseries request for thief, since obviously the current method is using deus ex's version. I could do it....

menu/maps/scrolls not in fullscreen is a ddfix issue
to circumvent the proble set your desktop resolution to 640x480 (or 800x600) prior to launching thief with ddfix 1.1.1
