Oh and a question i forgot to mention in PM (although i hope you answer in PM) - will my kind of cpu will be able to run such a diffrent kind of graphics card? (i mean - i've always been stuck with geforces...)

You forget that while it seems the graphics card is a factor here, there's also the issue of having the correct thief.exe/thief2.exe, hence the reason that widescreen mod is failing. (If I'm understanding the situation correctly.) Unless of course it has to do with the 1440 x 900 ?

The card is a DELL ATI RADEON X600 128MB PCI-E, it came out of an old desktop. {edit} Thor, Ive just realised, your motherboard may not be able to take this card, is your Geforce 2 MX an AGP card..?

I only do this sort of thing in this forum as I know most of the people who play Thief don't have a lot money, and as I come across old It kit periodically I don't mind giving it away to people who can make use of it.

Thor has 3 issues as I see it..
1. The graphics card(Geforce2MX) he currently has isnt powerful enough to play thief at the native resolution of his monitor(1440*900) he can only play it at 1024*768 or less.
2. He is unable to patch his original version for thief for some reason, so has resorted to downloading a torrent of thief.
3 . We need to verify what copies of thief he actually has so we can figure out how to help him patch it/them - if it comes down to it I`ll send him my spare copy.

Hella awesome thread. My bro finished putting together his comp (best one on tha house, so far) with pretty awesome hardware, including a 1GB Nvidia card. This and DDFix makes Thief II run excellently on his machine. Good work on makin such an excellent mod! :thumb:

Fantastic, finally playing the game with the wide view.
When I ran the installer, however, I first thought I was mistakingly running the widescreen patch for Baldur's Gate. Both of them mistakingly enquire for the coordiantes, while they are actually wanting to know the sizes in pixels.

DarkWidescreen version 6 release 2 is out. This release includes some fixes for the installation only but does not add any new features. If you already have the first release of version 6 installed then you should not update to this new release.
Download:
link removed, new version below
Changelog:
- If game_screen_size is not present in cam.cfg it will be added. The mod should now work without problems on a virgin installation. (reported by Kolya)
- Added a blank log file to avoid a warning which might get confused as an error (reported by poroshin)
- Changed wording of the prompts (reported by Tej)
- Updated to the latest WeiDU (version 208)
- GPL
