Hmm ... Thief said it could not switch to my chosen resolution (1680x1050) ... I'll have to check the trouble shooting docs.

I install it, and it always come up with the 'requested screen mode could not be set' message ingame. What should be the reason for it? The little dos window says "succesful install" meanwhile. Thanks for any help. Also, because of my loud cd rom, I use the exe version that loads things from the hard drive.

that sounds like you need to uninstall and reinstall WSP (widescreenpatch), as all i did was copy the new files over the top of the old ones and bobs yer uncle - I did however run into problems when trying to uninstall and reinstall - it would fail each time.

Biker, the real problem is, that even with the CD, Thief 2 does not start with the original cd rom. There is the cd2 in the cd drive, and when I start the game, it says: "Please put in the correct disc" or something like that. That's why I use the other version. Also, with Thief Gold, I must to use a hacked one, because I have an ATI card. Any ideas?

when i download the latest widescreen patch from filefront, mcaffee sees it as a virus generics.dx or something, can that be right?
