yeah, that's a bit of an issue at first, but one can adapt to that as well.

you want shiny toys, you gotta pay up, that's the rule.
if you are dishing out lets say 700e for a new pc plus 250e for a new monitor, throwing in another 500e for two more is not that big of a deal - and it will still be cheaper than getting a single 30" ips monitor.

Oh yer, got pictures..?
I'll take pictures tonight, but won't be able to post them until monday afternoon or so because I forgot my camera's cable at work.
The only problem is you need to have a dark room to actually see something, but hey you rarely play thief in full light (at least I don't).
My current setting is 1280x720, I know I already played with 1440x900, and considering my projector is hd ready I should be able to push it to 1920x1080 using a HDMI cable. I know I can do it with my bluray disc.
Yeah no extraordinary resolutions, but the size of the screen is 2,4 meters wide and 1,4 high. The projector is placed at 3 meters from the wall. The minimum size for a bedroom, at least in France, is 3x3 meters. My setting is in the living room because I mostly use it for DVDs and such, but when I bought it I was still at my parents house and I put it in my bedroom.

As for the price, with a bit of luck, a decent graphics card + 3x ips fullhd monitors can be obtained for less than 1000e - well worth the punch, I say.
6 years ago, I bought my videoprojector a little less than 1000 €.
Today, the projectors are even better, all of them are full HD, I'm pretty sure you can go wild with resolutions. If I had to buy my videoprojector today it would cost half the price I paid it 6 years ago, maybe even less.
I have a Hitachi PJ TX300, today I'm sure it's crap but it was one of the best back then :

Ouch, as far as technical demos go, that was pretty awful.

ah, I know now what does the vid remind me of - turkish star wars. if you haven't had your daily dose of dafuq did I just see yet, go see it on youtube (the final scene will be enough), it's amazing in it's own way. and definitely recorded by potato as well (a really hairy one).

Alrighty, back to what little topic there was... Can this thread die already?
There's nothing wrong with this thread. If you don't feel it's worth your time then I suggest you don't read it or post in it.

@biker, any chance we could get a vid of your setup in action, playing some Thief? I get the feeling the image you posted makes it all look a little more out of proportion than it actually is.
