Do maps created in 1.19 work in 1.20?

I'm guessing yes, no, and no.

As a pleasant surprise, it's actually yes,
yes, and no; I didn't test everything, but at the basic level 1.20 maps do appear to work in 1.19. See the recent posts on (

But if you including environnement map from 1.20, and open your mission in 1.19 it will not work, no?

Well the environment map won't work, of course, but the mission should play fine otherwise. I don't have a proper room setup to test it on, but I added a fake environment map in DromEd 1.20 and played in Thief2 1.19 and the map was just silently ignored.

Such wonderful news, and my personal thanks to The Raven...It's a breath of fresh air, just in time to remove some of that smell generated by THIEF: The Reboot Project.

what a great news!! I love NewDark Team! maybe they're real-life keeper!
and I didn't test 1.20 yet, but I wonder why there's no fix log for double exhale bug when Garrett try hard to drop body.
[actually, he sounds "exhale" and "nah nah('I can't drop it here')" simultaneously]
1.19 caused this bug.
anyway, cheer you NewDark team guys! I wish i could donate you.

Merci mystery NewDark dev(s).
If you're continuing to develop, my dream wish is to integrate Tos's Mulitplayer into NewDark someday. I hope you continue the good work.

ran a few quick tests on different hardware - and confirming, geforce4 can now run the dx9 mode without HUD text corruption (as noted in the changelog). the crouch on crate bug is also fixed (noted in the changelog as well). nice.
