I know for a fact UFOs have landed on earth and are currently here. I won't post the proof however, because I want to protect mankind as much as I can.
Oh, and Elvis is still alive.
If you'd care to know and how you can find out yourself, PM me.
Why would I potentially endanger two of the people behind some of my most cherished games I've played?

What's needed is an ombudsman, maybe; some trustworthy 3rd party Eidos could talk through. If they are at all considering sanctioning the patches, even as informal, that's worth something & everybody wins.

Obviously my completely serious reply got eaten by the dark moderator god, who eat slightly crude responses even if they're completely ****ing genuine (isn't that **** thing stupid?)
Anyway, if you DO have any knowledge of who is coding the patches, or THINK you do, i'll most earnestly advise you not to mention it on a PUBLIC forum, where it is known representatives of the 'WRONGED' party are reading it. You do realize you're putting on yourself a big target for a sociopath to explore for his career advancement, and just being plain unwise. Besides endangering pretty cool people that is.
No hints. No 'hush-hush' messages. Nothing!

I understood your point the first time, and you're right about it. I'm not really sure if I should edit the content of my posts or not, but I feel the issue may not be as sensitive as we may all be making it out to be. I don't think it would benefit anyone to really go after the developers of the patch, the monetary gain would be offset by the incredibly negative stigma associated with someone who would go after someone making a non-profit, freely distributed software patch existing for the main reason of ensuring its continued functionality for years to come.
Still, I understand your perspective, and I really do appreciate the enlightenment. I'll be sure to be more discrete about any secrets I have like this. Thanks to those who decided to reach me in private as well, with warnings and otherwise. I'll think sensitive topics like this more thoroughly before discussing it like some item of gossip.

A company is a collection of people and some of those people will do things because of other reasons than money, like reputation, sociopathy or just busy work.
For instance, I was made aware of (
http://forum.cockatrice.de/index.php?topic=2129.0) THIS just yesterday. Hasbro is suing a 'virtual table' software, that 'allows' import of their
publicaly available card database (jpgs). To be clear, the software
doesn't code any of the Magic the gathering rules, and some people use it to play completely different card games. However, Hasbro is banking on being able to bankrupt this guy with their spurious lawsuit (guess the american crap law about no damages for a losing plantiff comes into play here) and shutting down his open source software to eliminate competition.
This is not a game.

"I can't tell you how pleased I am with you, mister Corbeau, I simply can't find the words. But perhaps our legal department can help me in that regard - they have such a way with them."
Haha, that just made my day :')

A big thanks to Le Corbeau for their continued hard work! :thumb:
Only thing I'm a little bit disappointed about is that (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140370) this bug wasn't fixed in the update since it really messes up ghosting. But still a very good job. ;)

Anyone, who at this stage seriously thinks that Squeenix would send their lawers after the party responsible for this patch has a few screws loose to put it mildly. First of all, Squeenix knows very well, that the internet shitstorm such an act would create would be absolutely massive. To not release the Dark Engine source code officially, because it may contain some obscure libraries is one thing, to go after a fan patch is quite another. Has Dark Mod gotten a C&D from them?

The Dark Mod was created very specifically to AVOID a C&D order, and we haven't had one specifically because we didn't infringe any copyrights. This is our code we created (well I didn't), on top of another game engine. Totally different animal.
