Try putting it in a different directory. If you currently have it in Program Files you'll probably find Windows is trying to save you. From Vista onwards PF has been protected from changes in case some malware tries to get you. Most newer game save things (keybinds, savagames etc) somewhere safe in %appdata% but older games use their own directory.

You don't have to reinstall anything. Just drag and drop the whole folder somewhere else, like into your Games folder. If you don't have one, just create a new folder on your C drive, name it Games and drag your Thief2 folder there.

Apparently, it seems that the problem is that the pc doesn't "read me" as administrator, it dosn't allow me to modify or save files, so I'm trying to find out how to modify these settings at startup. What a mess :(

You've already been informed exactly what the problem is and how to fix it. So do as you're told, instead of mucking around and making things worse.

Go be rude someplace else ZB. :nono: She asked for help and if she needs more, she should be able to ask without being snapped at.

I'll just add that you don't actually have to be admin, but Thief needs to be placed in a folder where the current user has full write permissions. and as always, a special permissions folder (program files, windows etc) is a very bad idea.
