....just create a new folder on your C drive, name it Games and drag your Thief2 folder there.
Hi Maga - I use win 10 with no issues. Do what Tannar says - exactly what I did when I got the new laptop and Thief 1 and 2 work perfectly - no administrator nonsense :)

Thank you guys.
So I did this thing of dragging and dropping in the Games folder I created in C.
I also Changed the settings in Darkloader:
Whatever mission I choose to play, it goes to the last mission I played (melancholy in Porto) I also tried to do the install only option of the original Thief to clean up but, no matter what, I get "teleported" to Cardia's fm.
Even if I launch thief from its icon..... :(
Thanks Linda for coming to my aid, and thank you guys for your advice.
In the worst of cases, I'll have to reinstall everything again............

tried FMselect?
maga on 20/1/2016 at 15:40
Ok, in the end I found out that only the first screen is that of melancholy in Porto, when I start the game it starts the mission I have actually selected.
I can live with that! :D
Woodoo47 I had installed FM select, but being the old lady I am, I prefer to stick to DarkLoader :)
Thanks again for all your tips guys!!!

check your Thief folder, along with cleaning up your file (books, FAM, intrface) etc you may well also find a number of other files in your Thief folder that can be removed such as .GAM files, you'll recognize them from the mission titles such as 'Calandra.GAM', they are not needed and may be the cause of your 'Pedro' start issues
Tannar on 20/1/2016 at 16:24
No, don't delete .gam files unless you know which ones to delete.
Fortuni, she is using Darkloader, so it's installing the mission in the T2 folder, unlike FM Sel. So the game will be using the gamesys files in that folder, either dark.gam, or whatever gamesys file her currently installed FM is using.

Marissa, try following the directions under "Clean up of files" in the (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48202) FM FAQ thread. It should get rid of the Melancholy in Porto title screen and any other issues you might be having like that.

is this the part when I say "I told ya"?
nickie on 20/1/2016 at 18:17
It's all very easy when you know what you're doing. When you don't, it's pretty easy to be scared that any action you take will result in a wiped hard drive.

Thank you Russ!!! :thumb:
Nickie, that's exactly the case, thanks! :)
