Wow - cool FM.
After playing 2h 30m, I've just completed the first (of many) objectives.
The only failed optionals so far are the two 'no-blackjack' ones.

AOT is a lot of fun. However it does take a while to play if you are trying to be really sneeky.
Have you done any swimming yet?

No, but ...
I have found the instructions for accessing the sword, so I guess I'll be going swimming in the not too distant future.

You swim in the tank of water to find the sword, its down there somewhere, just don't drown, it'd be horrible if the children looked in and saw a blue person floating around =P
Hi,
I'm playing on hard.
I'm in the vault, got the 4 talismans and the Conversion Table but I can't figure out what I'm supposed to do.The instructions scroll says I have to decipher the code, but what is it for in the elemental room ?
In the room below the study, I 've noticed the order that I saw the symbols, which was 1st the Earth, 2d the Air, 3rd the Fire, 4th the Water. That gave me the code 9-5-6-1.
In the elemental room, I tried to put each talisman on its pedestal in that order but it didn't work.
I've been swiming to the top and got near the chess that must contain the Sword but couldn't open it.
What did I miss ?

Inside the elemental room (the one behind the clock), you find arrows from all the 4 elements. Use each one on the pedestal for it's opposite element.

Thanks a lot, Nightwalker.I've finished this mission which is obviously one of the best ever made.May be one day I'll try it on expert but I must admit I have not enough patience for the moment. It took me about 7 hours of playing time on hard, so I'll wait some time before I come back into that huge mansion.
Now I'm going to try Timoteus which has just been translated in french language.
Thanks again for your help. :) :)

Every now and then I'm getting seemingly random 'guards alearted' messages, which sometimes even cause alarms to go off. This coincides with 'bodys discovered' appearing in the stats.
I say 'random', because it seems that all I need to do is close Thief II and restart at the same position, and no guards get alearted.
A question, then:
What happens if a guard finds a body somewhere? Does this 'aleart' the guard?

Playing on expert (but using my blackjack), I've just passed the six hour mark with 3 objectives checked off and about 2/3 of the required loot.
:o
I've just been in the Lord's bedroom and have the nearby painting. Now I'm off to climb the rafters in the library. After that I guess I'll start getting my hands on those talismans.
Once I've completed this mission, I'll have to come back and read all the posts.

I suspect that finding a body would cause the guard to go on alert, though I'm not sure. I had a problem in a couple of places with the mission saying a guard had been alerted when I couldn't pinpoint what had caused it. There are a few spots where I think noises carry to much to other areas. One spot was getting in and out of the Water pool and another was in the kitchen area, in one of the hallways. I hope you're enjoying the mission. It's fantastic! :)
