Ok, I figured it out. I was downloading the WRONG RAGE3D TWEAK PROGRAM! I was downloading the program that integrates itself into the catalyst control center and NOT the seperate program towards the bottom of the page. My problem should be fixed, now I have the fog options and stuff.
I just visited the Rage3D site here (
http://www.rage3d.com/r3dtweak/) http://www.rage3d.com/r3dtweak/ and could not find the seperate program. It seem now all the Rage3D Tweak programs are the one which integrates into the catalyst control center. (I didn't see the old one. Is it still there and I'm just blind?) I still have the old version of the Tweak (R3DTweak39c), but I am curious if these new versions will/won't work to produce fog. Does anyone know for sure? And if they don't work and rage3d no longer offers the version that does work, should the FAQ be updated with a new link of where we can get it?

I have downloaded and installed Radlinker v2.033, and so far I like it way better than rage3dtweak. However I have a question about using it.
I got it to show fog by doing the following:
rightclick on desktop
select radlinker
options tab
directx settings
disable w-fog
zfog and table fog should be default or enabled
Great! Perfect! Have fog!
Now here's the question:
How am I supposed to do this for individual games? What I mean is, this way I did it in the steps above seems global. W-fog is always disabled, not just with Thief 2. I tried to disable fog for just T2 by this method:
rightclick on Thief2 icon
selected Create Custom Settings
rightclicked on the Thief 2 icon again
selected properties
options tab
directx settings
??? where are all the settings ??? They show 5 things in the list, and don't let you scroll down. W-fog is not in the list (nor is most of the items that were in the list via the desktop method). I even unchecked Use Defaults and they still don't let you scroll down. I also created a RadLink and checked the properties and didn't see W-fog listed.
Am I doing something wrong? Can you not disable W-fog just for Thief 2? If I have a choice, I'd rather not disable W-fog for everything since I don't know how other programs/games use it.

siegella, when you are looking at the Radlink(new shortcut to Thief) properties, all you need to do is go to the Radlinker "settings" or "options" tab(there are several tabs, so I don't remember the name off-hand), And find the part where you can choose "Advanced" or a similar item. This will enable the other items in the Direct3d list and let you specify all of the fog settings for just that one shortcut to Thief.

Perfect! Thank you very very much! :thumb:
In case anyone else needs to know:
It was under the "shortcut" tab - change "mode" to "advanced"

Does somebody knows how to get fog in a laptop with ATI video card. Mine is a Radeon mobility 9200 but the Rage Tweak or whatever is called doesn't seem to work in my laptop.

My laptop had an ATI card, and I can confirm that, at least for me, the ATI Tray Tool was the magic trick that got the fog running for me. I just double-checked my laptop, and that's what's installed.
