hey im new here and a noob when it comes to this... how do i play these files i just downloaded? where do i put them to play? i really lov thief and it was awesome to find these new, oh well not really new, but i just found them, these new parts of the game!
anyone able to tell me?

The files in the download package are unfinished.
To see them, you need to open them up in dromed.
Unzip the files and put them in a folder. It actually doesn't matter where.
Open up dromed. (Look at the FAQ thread if you have a question about how to set Dromed up on your computer.)
Load the .mis file you want to see through the Dromed file menu.
(Does it ask for a custom .gam file? I can't remember. But if it does, that should be in the download package as well, so you can just select the file it asks for when prompted.)
After the .mis file loads, then you press Alt+G to go into game mode.
And voila, you can walk around.
Since it's not finished, there's not too much you can do except walk around and take in the sights. But no doubt it's very cool just to walk around in. (Good news, though: it's being completed by a team of fans, so you'll get to play it as a finished FM-set eventually.)
When you want to finish you can press either Alt+E to go back to Editor mode, or Esc and quit through the game menu.

but i cant find the Dromed thing at the faq. link? is it some kind of construction-set?

It's the editor and comes on your T2 CD.

Except that the version that comes on the T2 CD isn't patched and doesn't work properly with the patched game...

I was somehow thinking the Dromed FAQ would have all that kind of information ... but it just talks about Dromed errors.
That's not as helpful as it could be.
Hopefully your questions have answered enough for you to know what to do, though.
I propose that an entry should be made on that FAQ right at the start that explains the difference between different versions of Dromed: on the T1/G CD, on the T2 CD, the patched version, the DromEd Toolkit ... and maybe some of the major add-ons people have made over time.
And then some explanation, also right at the start, about how to set DromEd up on your computer (or at least links to that info): a link to setting up two Thief folders (one for FMs, one for editing), how to customize DromEd (custom menus, window size, all the preliminary stuff you'd find in Komag's tutorial). Etc...
