I have a question.
Is there any possible way to recieve or complete "hidden" quest in
Mission13 - Casing the Joint.
It is written in goals if i browse game files and find it manually:
C:\Thief2\Res\intrface.crf\miss12\english\GOALS.STR
and it says:
fiction_9: ""
text_9: "Leave the bodies hidden in the library where someone will find them."
I think i recieved this qest long time ago when i played this amazing game first time, but not sure.
And another few questions :cheeky:
This file and content:
M02b14.str The Madam's Hitlist version B incase A is to much. ship this one
not used in game? too "explicit" as it says? (file: M02BB14.STR)
Another interesting files:
M04wp01.str,M04wp02.str .... M04wp06.str
it says for example
"Wanted the one-eyed thief" or "Hey Garrett... DUCK!!!"
anyone found them in game?
Another interesting files:
M30B01.STR, M30B02.STR .... M30B06.STR
it says something about a way somewhere?
Finally last one :p
M90GOALS.STR
page_0: "Goal: Get Ramirez and bring him to this room.
Hard: Don't kill him.
Expert: Don't kill anyone."
just another not in game used joke?
Thanks

There are many unused conversations and readables in the games. Some were put in and later taken out, while others were created but never implemented.
The bodies of Lorna & Giles deserved to be discovered, but those two missions, Casing the Joint and Masks, are woefully incomplete. The devs couldn't finish them and much time was wasted struggling with them.
I'd say that objective was never achievable in a shipped version, though it makes sense for it to be there during development. If it was, I'd like to know. There were changes made between the initial release and the re-releases, such as the swap-out of the shrine in the Rumford's basement, or the added invincibility of the Golden Cherub.
There was a Ramirez sub-plot to the TMA story, where he's gone missing and his belongings were auctioned off (or something similar), but you can see that objective is a temporary text, almost like a dev's note-to-self. Normally the goals are in the Interface/Miss* folders, and the filename shows a separation from the rest.
