Hey, I'm having trouble getting the basement key from Jeanette right at the beginning of the mission. I guess she is supposed to put it on the table but it doesn't appear. Did anyone else have trouble with that?

I heard that can happen. But don't worry, the key is not needed. Due to an oversight the basement door can be picked open.

Auggh! I dropped a piece of evidence somewhere, the Mechanist's Sermon. I swear I had it in my inventory but when I went to drop it off on the desk, nope!

And none of my saves have the Sermon either.

Anyone else ever lose a piece of inventory you needed to complete a mission?

I think I had mysterious disappearances of inventory items such as scrolls/readables in a few missions, such as earlier versions of missions in Sensut's "Bathory" series. Most of the time, these strange occurrences did not repeat.

That mission is awaiting a dml and then those books will be made non drop. In the meantime if you post a save I can tell you where you dropped the book.

You have to drop the books on the priest's desk, no? So making them "non-drop" would be a bad thing.

Thank you for the offer, fortuni! I'm good. On home self-isolation, so I have plenty of time to crawl around and find the darn thing. Still need the 3rd piece of evidence anyway.
