No, Basso must surely have been married and retired by the time of the Metal Age?
FMs can take place before that timeline.
Besides we all know he owns Garrett a LOT of favors. I can see him aiding Garrett if asked for help.
Oh, and the movie rocked! Running interference with 2 robbers! I would start a bird wistle tournament with my friend :)

Um....Multiplayer for thief? Really?
You guys are f*#cking geniuses!!! That video was hot...btw, the video was from the perspective of the host, I assume? Is there much difference from the client perspective, or are they about equal performance at this point?
Seriously though, you guys rock. You basically just opened up a whole new realm of FMs for other people to make and for me (and friends :o ) to play (at the same time :sly: ).

I know it's far too early, but... would it be possible to have one set of triggered voice comments for each of the player avatars? What about the sound propagation of Garrett's voice, could that be done? Would that mean that two or more Garretts be babbling the same sentences all at once, or what?
I think that could be done, for FMs at least, there aren't really any alternate set of sounds to be played for the regular missions... right now we just have it set up to only play the comments once, whenever one of the players reaches that spot.

Every video we release is taken from the perspective of the client, because for the host it's almost like singleplayer in terms of what works and we'd rather show the bugs that clients have to deal with instead.

Uploaded a new video showing us playing Running Interference from start to finish on normal difficulty. It's now available on the first post of this thread (along with the second video we made of Framed) or here.
Sweet, gonna watch it now.... But Tos, the link on page 8 is to the new video, however on page one it duplicated "framed.avi", so it is linked to the wrong video.
edit: Awesome... I see there is still the problem with the torches (if you know what I mean) but I'm sure that is low on the list of things to get done.

Wow, that just makes it more impressive. Again, you guys rock. Out of curiosity, can the two human players damage eachother? :ebil:

I'm not even sure what's causing that yet. It is pretty low on the list of things to be fixed though, since it's just a minor visual glitch. The actual light from the torch is extinguished properly for everyone in the game.

Yes, they can.

That's what I thought. The funny thing is, I've actually had this problem before in vanilla thief, but it wasn't in thief 2, it was in thief gold. My situation, IIRC, was that I had a save inside of Lord Bafford's Manor and when I was testing my custom "bafford's mission" and I loaded it through darkloader, I had the exact same problem. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why. At first I thought it was something I had done in dromed to mess the map up, but it turns out all i had to do was start a new game and things were fine. I stopped loading from the save and apparently the torches behaved themselves, AFAIK.:weird:

Coop Thief is the coolest. I can't believe there are so many that think it's boring, and that stuff like deathmatch is actually fun. It's unfortunate that the majority of Thievery interest was for tactical maps, and not for coop FMs.
One of my favorite things to do is get a friend online with me inside of Thievery, slap on our headsets so we can talk as we move, and simply explore a map (I think there's only one Thievery map that could be considered an FM, though, so naturally the idea of being able to do it inside of T2, and use existing FMs, is wonderful). Heh, one cool thing to do together is knock out guards, and then toss them over a fence or something. In Thievery, they wake back up after a few minutes, so it's hilarious to have some area where you've begun to stack the bodies. Even used a rooftop once. You come walking up with another unconscious guard, and a dozen guys are shouting at you and waving their fists. Hilarious.
But yeah, coop works great as a play style, assuming you and your friend(s) know how to work together. It's a helluva lot of fun. :)

I've seen this thread before, and let me say...
I passed this thread over because I thought that Multiplayer Thief was too good to be true. I thought it was just another "Bow Upgrade."
I just downloaded "Ominous Bequest" and I would like to bring a friend along.
Telling a guillible thief fan there's no bow upgrade is like telling a young kid there's no santa!
