Oh but there is a bow upgrade! Not officially in the game, but it does exist. If you don't believe me ask jtr7. I'm being dead serious.

Coop Thief is the coolest.
I noticed you started "(
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1440566) The Co-op Thief Thread". I'm inclined to agree with you, even though I've never tried it. (Only two people in the world (Tos and vort) seem to have tried it, actually.) Co-op Thief must be the coolest.
This from a guy who had T-shirts made for the Quake II launch.

I finally tracked down the problem with the DirectPlay 8 wrapper that I mentioned a few pages back, and have it working now. Ironically enough, the biggest problem turned out to be a mistake on a single line of code that I'd been overlooking for months.
Since implementing it in System Shock 2 is so trivial due to the nearly identical networking code, I've already ported it over to SS2 and plan on releasing it tomorrow barring any unforeseen problems. This should eliminate any need to use Hamachi to connect to players behind a router (and connecting is nearly instant now), improve reliability, and reduce lag to some extent. It also seems to make multiplayer playable under Vista, which I suspect would not be otherwise due to the removal of some DirectPlay components in Vista.

Congratulations! There are no words for the awesomeness that is this work! :cheeky:

I hope no one misunderstood my earlier post -- this is simply for System Shock 2 at the moment. I don't think that a release for Thief should be too far behind now that this is working, but I'd rather not make any promises.
edit: It's been released (

Unbelievable !
I never saw this thread before, or If I did by the title I thought it was another of those "is it possible ?" threads. God I was so wrong, if this ever comes out and properly works, it will probably be the most important improvement of the original game.
Outstanding work... :thumb:
