Sound in general has been quite buggy and difficult to get working properly in multiplayer actually, which is somewhat surprising given that none of the problems we've encountered occur in SS2.
Maybe if one could pinpoint exactly what are the differences between sound propagations in SS2 and Thief2?
...not that I was aware that there were any... :erg:

I don't think Tos has worked on it much for a while - he's been a bit busy with a few things, but I think it's safe to say that he's invested so much time into tinkering with Thief that he isn't going to abandon it.

Well I hope that's true because this is an impressive project with some very cool potential...
BUT...people can somewhat easily make a break, even if there has been a ton of invested time and effort, because it can all be thought of as a "sunk cost" (see, I learned something from that econ class!). It's all in the past, and just looking forward from this point on he might decide he doesn't want to spend tons more time on it. It's a worthy task, but I can understand it also being mountanous for an individual

Hell, if he does decide to cease his working, I just hope he'll release his work as it is so as to let someone else pick up the torch. :thumb:

Knowing him, I'd say that it's fairly unlikely that he's going to just up and throw all of his work away, heh.
Working with Thief helped give him a lot of experience in areas that he hadn't dabbled much previously (DirectPlay especially), and it's likely that he'd be able to learn a bit more from continuing his work.

I hope I don't sound like an asshole... but hi zop, who are you? You didn't formerly introduce yourself. If I recall correctly, you've never posted in this thread, and I see your status is "new member." (In that regard, welcome! :))
I'm guessing you are working with Tos on this project?
