Can anyone please direct me from where I can download the Thief 2 source code?
I tried on thepiratebay.org:
(
http://thepiratebay.sx/torrent/8513659/System_Shock_2_2.3__Thief_2_1.18__Dark_Engine_source)
But there are no seeders and the torrent can not to be fully downloaded. I also tried searching it in other places (emule, google, some other torrent sites).
I know that the source code is (unfortunately) proprietary and thus some may consider it legally troublesome when I am asking about it. I would like to see how Looking Glass programmed some concepts seen in game (i.e. I will not use the code to for some illegal purpose).

I don't think it's been released to the public.

Is it just me, or is that totally the Thief 2 source?

Well, it has been floating around for a few years now.

Okay, it's Thief2 source code, cool, but what will you do with that?
It's NewDark's source code that could be interesting to us.:nono:
Rewriting the code to get a second newdark will be very hard, moreover, if you succeed in that task, I'm not sure at all that newdark mission will be compatible with your new code... That will be waste to be forced to rebuild everything!
Excepted if you can do that with no problems, then, I will do nothing but congratulation! :thumb:

FireMage - Re-read the original post, he's interested in looking at the code to see how certain things were done in the games. Looks like he's using it strictly for educational purposes.

He didn't ask that :sly:
I did not know that. Last time I heard there was a petition to release the code, but someone mentioned it had been lost after LGS closed.

New Dark itself was (presumably) built using insights from the leaks Source Code. No rewrite would be prompted by this unless it's newer (more complete, etc) than what
was already studied.
The big transition was from DDFix to New Dark. "It already happened." "It already happened"
