Thief 2 videos refuse to play

Just reinstalled Thief 2 and applied the 1.18 patch, and videos (intro, briefings etc) flat out refuse to play. Double checked to see if i have the indeo codecs installed (check), did a reinstall, no change.

Anyone know a fix for this? The game loses so much of its mood without the movies :(

Have you tried the (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75031#movies) My ingame movies (briefings and cutscenes) aren't playing anymore, how do I fix it? section in the red FAQ at the top of this forum?
