TTK12G3, I appreciate you want to respond to this thread but it would be nice if you could post some recommended fanmissions as well. Of course there is nothing wrong with replying but, like Otto said, please keep discussion to a minimum and rather not about download statistics or things like that. Now you created a post, you might as well post some missions.
I haven't created this thread as replacement for the the circle's voting system in the first place. But I think it can function well as an alternative way of voting for recommended thief 2 missions. The circle voting system is easier to influence. It's a shame that many fanmission's ratings have been intentionally lowered by a single person. It's sad and totally unnecessary. Many who visit the circle in search for fanmissions will look at the rating it recieved. This means that a lot of missions will not be downloaded just because someone thinks its funny to give them all a 1.
The main reason for me to make this thread is that many new members often create threads to find out which fan missions are really worth playing. This way they can just search in one thread and the forum won't be flooded by numbers of 'Recommend me some fanmissions' threads. Having one is better and more synoptic instead of everyone creating his own with only a few replies as result. Another reason is that I'm just curious to see the community's favorite thief 2 fanmissions (and I think I'm not the only one).
But to be succesful, we need other members to post their missions of course.
It would be great to see some of the older members respond as well. With their many years of experience they can inform the new members about the best missions.

Alright, alright...damn... Here are the ones I like out of the handful that I have played:
Insurrection- 8.5(Silver)
A gloomy cityscape mission with an active plot. Too many undead in some places.
Moth to a Flame- 7.5(Bronze)
Mission based pretty much entirely in cityscape. Large and fun to explore. Has a few small challenges which can make the mission seem much harder than it really is.
Profane Acsension- 8.5(Silver)
"Building with wall around it"-type mission that has a semi-active plot. This mission has more interaction in it than usual. Has many secrets to find. Well placed gimmicks are present.
Relic: Left for Dead- 9(Gold)
Large mission with many hidden objectives and has much ground to cover. Not too difficult.
Ruined- 9(Gold)
Very large, well built, and enjoyable mission. Storyline seems a little bit fragmented and difficult to follow, but this does not get in the way.
Stronghold- 8.5(Silver)
The mission is very large and has much to explore. Well placed opponents, although they can be dispatched quickly in some places. Is tedious at times.
Timon on 5/11/2005 at 17:24
The 7the Crystal 10 (Gold Award ) - the best mission ever.
Horns of Canzo - A long way up 8 (Silver Award)
EMILIE VICTOR -8 (Silver Award)
Ominous Bequest - 8 (Silver Award)
Deceptive Perception - 7,5 (Bronze Award)
Embracing the Enemy - 7,5 (Bronze Award)
The Art of Thievery - 7 (Bronze Award)
Calendra's Legacy - 7 (Bronze Award)
Rowena's Curse - 7 (Bronze Award)
A Thief's Holiday -7 (Bronze Award)

Thanks for posting your favorite fanmissions, TTK12G3. And you too Timon :D
It's always nice to see the favorite missions of a fm author. Hopefully others will follow your example, the thread has been dead for more then a month :(
I use this post to report some new changes I made in the past months.
There are now two new choices you may use in your post: A Coming Soon notification (where you can put the missions you're planning to add shortly), and the option to give awards to your missions.
Furthermore I rearranged some texts to make the instruction more synoptic, and I've added a lot of new missions to my list, including comment and some awards (best Modern FM and Best Deserted FM :) )
See the instruction for more information.

OK, let's see here:
I'm not going to get into specific numbers, it's so subjective and I don't have a personal scorecard, but basically it's like this:
bronze: just about anything released, it takes alot to put out a mission, and if someone went to the effort, it's at least worth this. Of course there are some unworthy of even this so they just won't get mentioned, basic demo's, no consistancy,ect...
Things that are strikes, if a mission has alot it won't be above here.
Badly or unaligned textures, lockpicks over 3 seconds, unless there's a good reason, insane puzzle hunts, things that make no sense, 20 page readables.
Silver: Fun to play, might have a few bad marks listed above, but not excessive. Overall just a good solid Fan Mission, nothing mindblowing.
Gold:Excellent gameplay, good use of textures, good sounds, lighting, everything is top notch. Will forgive a few small details.
I'll start my list with recent plays, stuff I can't forget:
Abominable Dr. Dragon, The:Silver
Very creepy, good layout, fun gameplay.
Calendra's Legacy:Gold
A huge 3 mission pack. all 3 missions are pretty good variety. Just a beautiful city with lots of places to go, lot's of new stuff. Very well done. One timed objective kindof a pain, but doesn't take too long to figure out.
Equilibrium:Gold.
This one stands the test of time, great architecture. Intense gameplay. Some really cool effects.
An Original classic.
GreyFeather Gems -The Shipment: Gold
GreyFeather Gems - Rodamill: Gold
These 2 are just great all around missions, fun gameplay, great terrain, everything, no complaints, except that part3 isn't out yet.
Into the Maelstrom: Gold
Small but great atmosphere, if you have 1/2 hour to waste, well, it won't be a waste if you play this one.
edit:whoops, orignally Lord Fishkill's Curse, I meant it's predessesor, something happened and I wasn't able to finish, I know it started good, have to find the CD with that one on it. Anyway, I know Shadowspawn put alot of technical gadgetry in LFC so you can't go wrong, I'll rate it when I finish:
Lorgan's Web (T1): Silver
I'd say a high silver. Some OM terrain, good city action. maybe gold, it's been awhile.
Paladine Manor:Silver.
It's been awhile but I seem to remember a few small glitches. Nice mansion looting mission, fun to play.
Omnious Bequest: Gold
Great Mansion mission. Lot's of suprises. Well done throughout. Good use of terrain.
Saints and Thieves: Gold
A really funmission, guards/ thieves, town setting. Everything well done.
Seventh Crystal, The: Gold
At the time, deffinately the most beautiful mansion mission. great gameplay, atmosphere. Camvator intro (the original).
Swamped: Silver
Fun mission, good challenges, unique terrain. Can get lost, it's pretty large, was there a map?
Thieves Highway: Gold
Great rooftop mission, perhaps the best. This seems to be one of the most desired gameplay styles, but seems like the least amount of missions use this gameply. Just about everything in this mission was exactly what you'd want.
Trickster's Gem Mine series: Silver overall
A really fun series, good variety thru missions. Been awhile but I never noticed any bugs and had fun with all of them. Except the last one, was a bit of a puzzle hunt. I'd probably give the last one Bronze for that reason.
Willow Island: Silver. Had fun playing it, first time riding a mine car :)
Saturio Returns home: Silver. This is a classic (maybe the classic?) mansion mission. released in 2001, still good, just not as advanced as most modern missions. Good storyline, nice layout. Would be hard to ghost on expert, I had a hard time finding my way in with gaurds on top of gaurds, then mech eyes on top of them. You deffinately have to find the correct route, or lure zombies out of the tomb to distract all the guards like I did. An hour later they were still trying to keep the zombie down :D
Heist Society: Gold. Mansion break in. Good conversations. I had alot of fun with this one, a large well laid out mansion, lots of sneaking. Lots of guards but well spread out. Automap. No major bugs.

I'm bumping this for one reason, I made a few updates :D
No really, I think this thread should be pinned for these reasons:
It's a good way to tell who gave what score so other players can get an idea what they'd like to play based on actual opinions, comments rather than an arbitrary number at a download site. Also, just because it's gold doesn't mean someone wants to Dl an undead mission to find out it's undead.
I know we can search titles and try to read about them, but you get alot of spoilers that way.
I also believe that alot more people will post opinions if they don't have to search for this thread, and if they don't know it exists they won't search for it. Moderators, what do you say?

This is a THIEF 1 mission. He only wanted thief 2 missions.
You have a bunch of thief 1 missions in there besides this one, also.

That's a blast from the past. Funny to see this thread still drawing attention :).
