Hi all,

Sorry for making a new thread on this but I didn't see any recent Thief 2x topics that I could ask this in.

I started up T2x FM I downloaded from somewhere about a year ago. I had not played these missions in over a decade. It seems my version is T2X.zip file at 746MB that installs into the FM folder. When I play the textures look annoying like they are some HD texture mod on them. This became really apparent on mission 3.

I want to play the original textures. I don't recall the textures looking so clean like this, they were more normal from what I recall and can see on some play throughs on youtube.

I tried downloading T2X again from TheifGuild which gives me an 657MB t2x_v11_full.exe file but that fails at the end of the install throws an error saying "T2X needs to rename and alter the "t2x\install.cfg" in order to play." I checked the FAQ but I don't even see the t2x\install.cfg file so I can't get past this error. I tried running the install as admin too.

Does anyone know how to get a working copy of the non-HD texture version of his game? Or are the texture just like this and am I crazy?


EDIT....starting to think maybe just some of the textures are custom on mission 3 and I'm crazy lol

I tried searching for Ricebug's FMSel-ready version, but apparently it's been taken down. Maybe I should just host it myself...

Well, I feel dumb. I have the exact version linked to in the downloads and re-checked a playthrough on mission 3. It seems the ground texture just threw me off on mission 3 in the city and I actually have the non-HD texture version! I guess some of the custom textures made for the game just looked off to me. :cheeky:
