It would be great to see some up to date screen shots. :) We're chomping at the bit for something to tide us over.

I did hear awhile back that the screenies were a bit low key, so to not give too much away. I thought that made sense. You know the element of surprise once you do start to play. OMG, this is so cool.
Since it is getting so close now, I hope more of a taste will be at hand for all to view and devour. *Waits for Gonchong to post some new screenies*

I can help with hosting a few missions if needed, if the space already offered shouldn't be enough.

Hopefully there won't be a flood of people asking why they're getting the error that just about everybody with a newish system gets. That Direct3D Device error or whatever it's called that has something to do with the "safe texture manager".
Maybe stick something in the Read_Me about this problem.
Anyway can't wait for this. Remember when it was announced. Quite a few games have come out this year that we've been waiting on for ages.
Now if only 3D Realms could speed things up a bit.

Duncan - that thread is great! I can count on one hand the people that are actually still around who offered to help in the beginning. For instance, the plot team began with about 15 people, and has gradually worked it's way down to 3 now that it's all polished up and we're just fixing small things. It's true the community as a whole contributed ALOT in the beginning in terms of ideas and general direction, but a much smaller team has nursed it for the last 2-3 years. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. I remember Greymouser and Lytha being in charge at the beginning before Avalon and I staged a hostile takeover. The plan we ended up using to orgainze everything is the one stated by both of us in that thread. Cool.

13 missions should well fit on a single CD. I expect this to be in the range of about 300-500 MB.
dont forget they said they have all new custom content, this means they would replace alot of the meshes, plus cutscenes, plus everything else, if they rar/bzip2 it with max compression levels they could probably get it onto 1 CD-r
or if they offer iso installers then 2 cd-rs would be enough

Just remember that stereo point-source sounds get crushed down to mono by the engine, so those are a waste.
And 11khz is usually perfectly acceptable.
And letterboxing your videos is a great way to improve your bitrate bang-for-buck.
11khz is not acceptable IMO. How about having a setup program decode mp3 or OGG files to wave?
