Only BitTorrent? And what about the simple download? I'd like to use my FlashGet to get T2X and don't want to go and grab those Torrent download programs...

Why don't you want to install BitTorrent? Torrents are distributed among those downloading, so that the file isn't just downloaded from one single source. Imagine the bandwith needed for such a large file if several hundred people tried to download it at the same time the traditional way.

Why don't you simply give it to Eidos and say: 'here you go, free of charge. Put it in a budget pack with Thief II, please.' Which is still selling well as a budget game.

That sounds like a cool idea... But I still want to be able to download it if I already have TMA.

Torrent would be the best way to distribute the game... just cause it can be used for illegal activity doesn't mean that it should not be used... this is practically what it was designed for!

Alas, Eidos is very picky about what they decide to publish or even just include with other titles because it reflects on them and their reputation, regardless of however many "WE DID NOT MAKE OR SUPPORT THIS" lines they may throw onto it (and regardless of how shitty their reputation already is ;)). They would need to dedicate a lot of QA work to make sure T2X meets or comes close to the same standards as their other published titles.
There are also a horde of other issues involved, but in short, the chances of it happening are slim to none. And by "slim," I mean "slimmer than an anorexic skeleton."

A question about torrent clients: I've run G3Torrent for a while and I don't like it, because it hogs all the computer memory. Is this a common problem or just this one? I will try out the clients mentioned earlier as well.

I use Azureus and I must say that it is quite cool. It distributes the load quite nicely, you can get all kind of statistics, and it is available on Windows and Linux. You look at sourceforge for it.

This is pretty awesome that everyone that has been working on T2X stuck with it to the end. I'm very excited to finally get to play it after all these years. :)
