11khz is not acceptable IMO.
Of course it is. 11khz can represent any frequency up to 5.5khz. Human speech normally falls in the 1 - 4khz range.
The reason many of Thief's sounds are hissy is because they use 8-bit audio instead of 16-bit.

If you're going to use BitTorrent for distributing, could you run it on non-standard ports? I'm locked behind a university firewall which blocks traffic to the normal BT ports, but does allow traffic to others. So if you use non-standard ports, people like me can download it to, with no inconvenience to others.

Regarding Bit Torrent; What's with the different types of the program? I just use the "standard" one I found on the official website, and I would like to know if I could possibly gain anything in regard of download speed with another program.

I made some comparisons. At 22Khz speech starts to sound ok to me.

If you want to make a 'tiny' package, why not try 7-Zip? It's by far the most effective compression out there. RAR? Pah!

So basically with all this Bittorrent talk, if you dont get it within the first month of T2X's release your out of luck :( Unless you find someone to burn a CD for you. My idea of splitting the files over several servers was completely rejected, but I was expecting that. That would work though. I suppose ThiefMissions could force you to get it over a three to four day period, because you use up your quota. Maybe even set up T2X to only leak out about 100Mb to 1 Gig per day. This is far to much work to only be made available 1 month after release. Seeds dont last forever.

BitTorrent is a good idea for the first month of release because that's when it will be hit the hardest. It's going to be available on FilePlanet and likely a number of other sites similar to FilePlanet that host gaming-related files, so should there ever be a lack of seeds on the torrent(s), there would still be the servers to fall back on. It's all good, baby. :thumb:
So I see there's a lot of demand for new screenshots - done and done. New shots on the way as soon as possible.

There are also a horde of other issues involved, but in short, the chances of it happening are slim to none. And by "slim," I mean "slimmer than an anorexic skeleton."
Calista Flockhart then?

In reply to giving it to Eidos for free.
Fuck that! If they want it, they have to give us the thief 3 editor!

Hehe. 3 pizzas a day for a month, and she might actually cast a shadow...
