-install Thief2

-install T2x, move it to the FMs folder
-run the fm shortcut, double click on T2x to launch it

Can I save T2x into the FM folder then install it from the FM folder?
I already have Thief 2 installed in C:/Games
There's a lot of things that need to be done for TafferPatcher, is it going to mess up any of the others FMs I have? Can it be used if I have TFix?
I just don't want to mess up what I already have in the Thief folder because I had a hard time getting it to work with darkloader. I'm not very savvy with pc.

no idea what do you mean. if you go through those four steps from my previous post, you should have a working setup.
//you are probably trying to run it via darkloader. no idea whether that would work, I'm not familiar with the old loaders.

DarkLoader runs the t2x.exe launcher (lets you choose "play t2x" "play original thief 2") that came with the t2x install when you play it from the default installation path of \Thief2\t2x. This actually works just fine but I believe it uses the \t2x directory as a base which means it loads its own config files/assets from only \t2x and its subdirectories. It counts t2x as an "original game" and seems to not recognize it as a fan mission if you toss the directory into a specified fan mission search path.

I just run tafferpatcher, I don't know what if anything I should have ticked during installation, so I didnt , Now I have 2 thief 2 folders. The first one had all the files, the second one that tafferpatcher just installed, has a Backup folder and a tafferpatcher.INI file, and a Thief2 folder which only has a MISS8.MIS file.

if not, follow those four steps I've posted above and you can't go wrong.

Ok, that's done, but now when I run T2x through the shortcut on the desktop, it just starts with T2.
Also, for DarkLoader, should T2X FM be in the T2x folder or the T2 folder?
