I've posted a video that shows an "alternate" way to complete the last mission in "Thief: Deadly Shadows", a much less destructive one:

Has anyone else found this exploit/glitch? I searched the Net for a while & couldn't find any evidence that this was known already...
I wonder if Eidos could use this "alternate ending" to set up the beginning of Thief 4 a little better? It'd certainly be the most original beginning for a video game sequel anyone's ever heard of... :-)

What the hell? I've seen videos of people pushing Gamall into the water in the Docks area... but oil flasks? That's a new one.
I like how she's supposed to be this super-powerful villain yet dies from slipping on a puddle...

What - Gamall is a hag and you need a final glyph to kill her?
(ps - she only dies in the glitchy sense. She soon glitches back into life again.)

Silly me...
I never thought putting oil flasks on fire with a fire arrow.

People were posting about this in 2004. IIRC Dark Arrow posted a video of her slipping down stairs and dying. By the way, your thread title is a little spoilerish for this forum.

She enjoys slipping into the sea and drowning either. Don't even need to push her or use oil flasks for that bug.

There. I've edited my post (thanks for allowing this!) so as to remove the spoilers. Boy do I feel dumb for not seeing that beforehand.
Re: Gambit's specific complaint...after demonstrating the alternate way to beat the baddie, the rest of the video is my silly attempt to prove the baddie is really beaten & not just sleeping or something.

You can make Gamall slip nto the water :wot:
*goes to try*

It looked more like having beaten her to death right there :)

I had a much longer video planned, with an original song and everything, but for the life of me, I couldn't find a band to help me perform and record the song! So I finally gave up looking and just released the exploit. I don't suppose there are any heavy-metal bands in the neighborhood of Ventura, CA that would be willing to help? It wouldn't be much work, and my standards are pretty flexible...
heh heh heh.
