edit: managed to get past and now stuck in area with sewer like tunnels and ladders at either endIf I remember correctly, you have to proceed, find

The author has pushed his own user.ini into the ZIP instead of providing a proper user_patch.ini.
One of the results is that you get HIS preferred language.
Install the mission and then lookup the user.ini in the main folder.
Change this to english:
[Locale]
Language=italian
Strangely enough if you do this, the game resolution immediately reverts to 1024*768 and all the personal key bindings get lost as well (they change back to defaults).
My question: in the city area past the second underground tunnel
where is the key to the safe in the priest's room? His note says (in Italian): "you won't find it at the usual place (under the bed) but near the fountain, more or less where the statues are..." - but I can't find anything resembling a key anywhere around there

That's because each locale has its own set of those settings, so you get the defaults when you switch. Look for a folder named "Opzioni dell'utente" and copy the file(s) in it into the parallel folder named "User Options".

Unfortunately this is quite normal and due to the fact that SneakyUpgade (or the game itself?) stores your preferences in a
language dependent directory.
e.g. 'Opzioni dell'utente' vs 'User Options' in the SaveGames folder.
Yet another reason why missions should not be published with any unneccessary USER-specific settings and a proper user_patch.ini.
Effectively you need to redo your keybindings (or simply copy them) for each and every language you are indending to play.
EDIT: must have fallen asleep while typing, since snobel beat me by 15 minutes ! :p

The game itself. I've actually been itching to make the SU remove this behaviour, unfortunately that would complicate things a bit for the installer/uninstaller.

Got that crystal-clear now, thanks. And... does either of you remember
where that safe key is hidden?Edit: asking it again helped, I found it
on the high beam, having done all the wall-top jumping exercise.

I found the street sign for Precursor Way, gate is down. No idea how to get there.
Also, in room where priest is, there is gargoyle statue, a safe, and a little cell. How to get the safe open? not found a key yet.
noticed some choppiness in movement unless I look down while walking/running. Anyone else had this issue?

From the priest's room walk right across the arches and mantle up on the wall. Creep/jump across until the small tower ahead, climb around its perimeter - the key is on the wooden beam below.

Ok, thank you - I made it and got all goals, but how do I win, where do I have to go in the end? I
tried the ship but can´t enter there...
Please help me identify
the infant church. I've used the switch in the far tower ("Old Castle"?) labelled to open its gate, but none of the remaining 3 locked church gates opened...
