ok well i tried the omega 61.77 drivers and still damn game restarts/ crashs the computer.

It probably is a bug in the game, but the game crashing is based on either Video drivers or Audio drivers, I'd gather
I remember one game I had that constantly crashed my buddies system, and we all thought it was video. But we learned that it was audio based, later on, and he could play if he disabled his audio.
I'd start with disabling audio, then if not that, then start dummying down the video, perhaps even disabling the device in the device manager.

But I allready disabled the sound and crippled the video card.
AND I NEVER EVER HAD A PROBLEM with this PC configuration (wich is one year old).
If it will be a driver problem then other game should crash.
In last 12 months I've played: GTA, Unreal 1, Unreal Tournament 2004, Unreal II, Doom III, WOW, HL2, NFS Underground (demo), RTCW and none crashed.
Is a bug in game. END.
Maybe we should try to modify the level with the level editor. :sly:

Now THERE's a thought. Are the levels editable?

I think I have this worse than everyone else, as it will consistently crash at ANY loading screen. It's taking so much time and stopping my progress to the point that I'm ready to give up on the game altogether. I've just finished overlook mansion, and am attempting to get to the sunken citadel, but I could be MUCH further if not for these crashes. Perhaps installing a new pixel shader could solve it?

It is from the long load time of the DVD, I had same. Open Thief, when the menu appears exit. Open again. Hope it helps. It did for me.
Or install minimalist.

Mine runs without the DVD, so it could be a hdd problem.
How could minimalist solve it?

It disables the opening movies (nVidia, ION, Eidos...), so the read time is not so long.
Maybe it is trying to find the files on the DVD?

The opening movies are disabled, and inserting the disk solves nothing. I'm beginning to believe that the error is caused by ks.sys, because since I installed new video drivers I get a MEMORY_MANAGEMENT BSOD instead of restart, which mentioned the file once.

Well, it's gotten significantly worse since I've gotten to Auldale. I was there, and everything was going fine, until I was hiding from some guards in the shadows and it slowed down to a crawl - then stopped - the crashed, giving me another blue screen of death. Great, now I have to deal with in-game crashes, too. I'm really getting into this game, but it hates me. :(
ISA has always sucked at the technical (bugfixing/optimisation) side of things, so I shouln't be surprised.
