Thief 3 DS v1.1 Menu Auto Scrolling problem

Does anyone know of a fix for this problem. My option menus or the briefing which have scroll bars menus constantly auto scroll upwards. If I try to click the down arrow its a constant fight to try to read the text that is displayed. I've noticed that if I load Thief and unplug my USB Saitek Eclipse keyboard and then plug it back in the problem goes away and I can scroll normally but eventually the problem returns during the same game session.

I found no help on Eidos tech support other than for gamepads which I'm not using.

I have 3 USB devices

Plantronics DSP 400 headphones
Logitech G5 Mouse
Saitek Eclipse Keyboard.
