Is it just me or is it far more difficult to to complete the loot requirement for Thief 3 than it was in either 1 or 2, on expert?
Just spent another hour in the pagan mission scouring for the last bit of loot I need to push me over the 90% line. I have completed both Thief i and 2 on expert and do not remember this. Finishing everything else in a mission but then having to spend more than an hour searching the same areas again and again, to find the last bit or two of needed loot.
But in Thief 3 this has happened in two out of the first three missions, and is seriously not fun. I just want to get on with the next stage of the game. Stuck on 88% and I just don't know where else to search (again).
Is it just me who thinks Thief 3 is harder in this respect?

I agree...tried to write a couple of walkthroughs for Thief 3 gave up because I was so short on loot requirements
(Just because it glows doesn't mean it's easier to find)

In theory that should make it easier. However, rather than spend another hour of probably fruitless searching I found a loot-through online and went through its list of loot to see what I hadn't yet found in-game. Might have ended up doing this for the other mission if that hour of searching had stretched on much longer.
I never once had to do something like this in Thief I or II that I can remember.

the trick to loot in thief 3 is to sit in a area and not move while looking at areas that might flash/sparkle a bit,i don't recall there be a over load of stuff on levels if anything i felt game was bare on levels with items
the only thing i remember having a hard time was one switch in a bookcase that was hidden and that might have been in a t3 fan mission

Maybe because it took mere 10 seconds to get through a level, lol.

If you have the time and patience to do this for every side of every room and area in a level then fair enough.
I do catch a lot of the loot from the glint, but still need a loot through. I am on the final Museum mission and have only not consulted the loot-through for two missions, and even for one of them I came close as the time and scouring stretched on.
I think 80% would have been a better limit. Leave the higher limits for those that want to play in a "find every loot item there is" style.

The highest loot requirement on expert in the previous games was in Thief 2. iirc in Masks you had to steal something like 78%. I too think it's ridiculous that in Deadly Shadows, every mission requires you to steal 90%. Especially since in the vanilla game it's impossible to complete one of the secret hidden objectives on expert because of the loot requirement of that difficulty mode.

The loot glint won't always work either unfortunatly. For example in that same pagan level up in the area where the girls bed is with the comb bonus loot. There is a goblet across the way that is loot but it never glints.

I think 75% would have been a better limit. I did regularly manage to find that amount as I recall, but as it stands, the only mission in which I found all the required loot without using a lootthrough or spending more than an hour searching at the end, was St Edgar.
Oh well, at least I had more equipment since I had so much money.
