Hey everyone,
I just wanted to ask whether thief 3 has been made into a thief 2 campaign? I do like thief 3 but the engine is meh... and playing the thief 3 campaign with thief 2 graphics would be amazing!

No. But there are a couple of missions based on the TDS City Projekt

Check the 2nd Thief Reloaded Contest for missions
1. Bad Hangover and
2. Pestis Cruenta

Doing what you're actually asking for wouldn't probably be legal, though, for the same reason that Thiefmissions wouldn't host the T1 OMs ported to T2.

Is this because T3 was done by Ion Storm and not Looking Glass?
Just asking out of curiosity. There are Duke3D maps ported into Doom mods and examples like Half Life Source (although that has Valve's blessing). How is Thief different?

In the case of Thiefmissions, Jason refused to host them just because it allowed you to play a level from a game you might not own, and he considered that of questionable legality despite the fact they were both LGS games. The same argument could be made here.

As long as no one is trying to make a profit, no one gives a hoot. I've seen every game ever made ported into every other game ever made.
When I was working with the QERadiant team back in the Quake II days, I had converted every DooM level into Q2, both made by iD. No one ever said Jack about it. Like I say, they don't care. Just stay away from their money.

Yeah, I didn't say anyone would care, just that it technically is probably not legal.

as long as you don't try to make money on it ,its perfectly legal
to remake t3 into thief 2 fan missions

Not trying to make money or profit from a project doesn't mean a thing as far as legality goes. It's still illegal.
It's just that whomever holds the rights may not care as much as long as no money is exchanging hands.
Companies will still often try to protect their IP, like the in the case of the AM2R project for PC that remade the 2nd Metroid game. Or all of the amateur Star Trek videos out there.
