A bug is not the same as a game being poor. How did you find it when it didn't have that bug? And did you bother erporting it?

Thievery wasn't very good, and that much is inarguable.
I'm right, you're wrong, don't argue. And everybody else should accept your
opinion as "inarguable" fact because...?

What are the chances of a mod for Thief 3 that allows multiple players enaging in missions in co op or .vs
I'd say it's about exactly zero. In Thief I and II there seem to be some rudimentary parts for multiplayer, and nobody managed to do it there. And these titles are much more moddable, then TDS is. Considering how slow TDS performs, I guess it would become even worse if you would add networking to it. I don't know if the devs also ripped out multiplayer code, because they didn't deem it neccessary, so it might be that you would have to hack it completely from scratch into the engine.

OMG, Subject, something we can agree on. ;)
For those that haven't played Thievery long enough, you don't know what the hell you are talking about. Subject is correct in saying it can be ghosted, it is a LOT of fun. It is still being played today.
You get a great group of people playing, its a hell of a lot of fun. I've ghosted, I've killed, I've knocked out as well. It's a game of skill, and patience. For on line play, there is a definite learning curve.
To each his own on the game, that's fine. If you haven't played but a round or two, I don't take opinions seriously from people with little knowledge and experience of the game. Because you just do not know the game. I know, I'm a super moderator of Black Cat games, and played Thievery since the beginning, I say this because I do have knowledge of the game.
But, like I said, you don't like it, fine, go play something else. Just don't spout off at the mouth on something you have little knowledge on. I DON'T LIKE IT, WHAAA. Thats an opinion, not knowledge of the game. Ok, go play something else, instead of whining about it.
No other game gave me the adrenaline rush that Thievery did, my hands used to shake after a good game, my favorite was thieving, and ghosting, not too many women played the game, I loved being a thief, and slipping in and out of areas, it can be done.
The game doesn't have as many players as it used to, despite that, it still is being played, and continues to be tweaked. That could be part of the problem, not as many players anymore, and the high learning curve, if you can't handle it, don't let the door hit ya. ;)
The hard core experts, could run circles around noobs, and show a thing or two. Awesome to watch, and spectate.
As a matter of, check out the
NEW GUARD SKINS, they don't look so much like Gladiators anymore. :P

And of course, we are waiting for NightBlade. Expected release on that, we don't know yet.

Actually, I think Thievery could be quite a nice game if developed well. Since I never tried it yet, I can't comment on it from firsthand experience, but from what I have heard, it sounds quite interesting and promising. One thing that turned me off though is, that I have the impression that there is only a handfull of players available. An online game rises and falls with the players, so this is the only drawback I see at the moment.
Of course I don't have THAT much time to play it at the moment, but it is definitely on my list of games that I want to try. I only fear that I might get hooked on it. Last time I played Return To Castle Wolfenstein I couldn't stop for almost a year, and this would mean that I loose a lot of time. :)
*Sigh* My list of games, that I want to play, seems to becoming ever longer...

Well, when a bug breaks my play experience, I consider it pretty serious. Maybe you can tolerate such things, but when something takes me out of "Thief-Mode" like that, I can't really get past it. I didn't see this bug until after I played 1.6, and as far as I've read and seen, the official site says 1.6 is final... Unless there's something that I don't know about, like official/unofficial/community patches that aren't stated on the main page.
I wanted to like Thievery, I really did. After all, I keep downloading it thinking that there's some option I keep missing in the configuration that'll solve my "problems". Maybe I should just switch back to 1.2, if I can find it. When I played 1.2 I felt everything was fair and it was rather fun.

Because I don't care about
your feelings when something is consistently breaking the game for
me. If there's anything I'm
right on, it's that it happened and it's repeatable as a "bug". And it's inarguable because I'm not going to debate whether or not it existed and whether or not it hurts the attempt at a Thief-like experience. An AI guard running at me out of nowhere when I've done little more than start the level is not within the bounds of Thief. I'm not breaking anyone's rights by stating I don't want to argue about it.
Edit: Ah, I see what you were commenting about--I did the big "generalization" no-no. I recant my statement that "Thievery wasn't very good, and that much is inarguable." Sorry, I had forgot I even said that.
(Although I could say it's inarguable as I wouldn't consider it useful, fun or productive to argue about whether or not a game is good.)

So without that bug it was fun? Good.
I ask again - did you report that bug? Did you mention it on the forums? Did you inquire about a fix? Does it happen in all-human games?
If you found the game fun until a bug was introduced it sounds like
you find that game fun.

Why report a bug for something that won't be fixed?

So you never played a multi-player game with other players and you're passing verdict? Well done.
Thank you, I thought so, too.

it's ut but with swords, bows and koing - basically it encourages the kind of playstyle that your average quake player would attempt when trying thief for the first time without knowing what the hell it was.
EXACTLY. It took all of 10 seconds to see this.

TUT continues to be fixed, and tweaked.
