And I'd assume that whomever is doing this has a website, with a URL and patches that go beyond Thievery UT 1.6? Because (
http://www.thieveryut.com/) sure doesn't have anything recent, and (
http://forums.blackcatgames.com/showthread.php?t=9786) this thread looks fairly official.
So if you're going to tell me that someone is still working on Thievery, please, don't just tell me. Give me a link.

Considering how old the mode is, people should be glad to still get any updates at all, let alone from March of this year.
1.7 patch is up in the air at the moment. Could be the last update, BUT, that doesn't mean there won't be custom updates, it happens more than you know. Customs map, mutators, etc. People that have done work on the mode in the past, continue to do work on their own, like Gullenfox, with his updated guards. His guard skins will probably be released on their own, just speculation right now. I'm guessing that is way it will go.
Custom maps, etc, can be found here. Very good site. (

first af all, OH MY GOD! B.A., is that really what the guards look like in TUT these days? that is such an improvement! I liked TUT, but I came to it late and couldnt hack the learning curve very well. in short, I sucked. but i didn't let that ruin my enjoyment of the game. I had a lot of fun in the game. there are things about the game I wish were better, but for crying out loud folks it's an old game and they did a great job with what they had to work with. I do agree that it's very annoying when some real experienced guy is exploiting a bug on you and you have no idea why he is able to do the things he's doing, you just know you can't and you don't have a chance, but that's a problem with the players not the game. the game is fine. no, it isn't exactly the same as thief, but that's ok. enjoy it for what it is. thief, after all, boiled down to a lot of timing guard patrol patterns and movements and such while in TUT you can't just watch a guard for 15 minutes and figure out his route then jump into the gaps. the only real non-thiefy thing I would say you can't avoid in TUT is that the human guards know you are there as soon as the game starts unlike the AI who are roving around casually thinking nothing odd is going on. if this bothers you, i suggest you just figure somebody tipped off the guards and they are expecting you. why not? i don't see why we have to rip on a game people put a lot of hard work into in a thread asking if T3 will see multi-player support ever.
*on topic* I don't have a link but I remember this discussion was going on real seriously when the editor first came out and it was discovered that the multiplayer portions of the code had been ripped out and done so rather slopily so that while there were a few vestages left it would take a complete re-build to put it back in. so, no, don't expect multi-player T3. ever.

Yeah thanks infoman I've played it lots. It is possible to ghost. The next one seems to be an extension of the combat bits of Thievery.
Excuse me don't you bloody well talk down to me and dismiss what I say.
If you actually bother to read it you will see that I always ghost when I play.
What I am saying, is that if the gaurds aren't a bunch of spastics then it makes ghosting impractical on a lot of the maps.
DMing is encouraged by the developers who infact argued with me claiming that a "cat and mouse" chase with a ghoster was "not fun" and that there "had to be combat involved".
I used to play a lot but it just degenerated more and more into dmery and easy-win guard tactics (mainly due to "respected" players endorsing these actions and the fact that when points were made for improving balancing and discouraging dming for the 1.5 patch ideas, the devs completely dismissed them so it was clear things were not going to improve).
If you do not want to dm you can rush - both work equally well, and the game heavily encourages both - both things being contrary to the spirit of thief. Infact a lot of the players rush and dm and then "win by objectives" so claim that they didn't dm at all... sure...
Very few players have any sort of chivalry anymore - and it is only sporting behaviour from both guards and thieves that allows for a good game in the first place - the game goes out of it's way to encourage the "win at all costs, throw player skill out the window" mentality and really it is not about stealth at all. You can hide in shadows, but that does not make a stealthy game - it is how those shadows are used that determines that.
I have said much of this in my oringal post but you dismiss and and refuse to read it because I actually disagree with your opinion and don't sing it's name from the hills.
The problem with the game is it's priorities. It is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

anyone plays thief 3 fm's and if so, what is your opinion on these. I haven't played any fm's I am waiting for your opinion...
I hope there is someone who's update the piece the game engine to create this miracle. I am even ready to make cards for TDS multiplayer.
