Hi there everyone, not sure if this is right forum for this, but I cant seem to manage to play thief deadly shadows on any res higher than 1024x 768, any higher even with 1024x1280 the native res of my monitor, in certain areas the lag is horrible and the mouse is jerky. I have 4GB of ram, an i5 661 so I'm presuming there is something I can do to improve performance, or is this just the coding of the game. I have tried everything in the tweaks list, the game is up to date as well as turning vsync both on and off, mucking around with all settings. Lag is especially bad at the end of the training mission and also at the beginning of the city section when Garretts in the inn.
Thanks in advance

You'll have to be patient with us. You need a more powerful Graphics Card and a GPU with greater draw. In the meantime, please wait for the proper eyes to spot your thread.

That card should have plenty of power to run TDS, so I don't believe that's your problem. This topic probably belongs over in (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=153) Legacy Gaming, as there are other TDS tech questions posted there.

First of all, switch to 3rd person view and check if lagging is gone. If it is, then it's an animation lag, it doesn't depend on computer's power. The only thing that can remedy it a little is a MouseLag parameter in DEFAULT.INI (or is it in SaveGame\User Options\options.ini? Correct me if I'm wrong).
Then, switch your power profile to maximum performance. The purpose is to make CPU not to change its frequency while in game. If CPU is overheating in that mode, then its frequency should be reduced before you start the game.
Check your video driver settings. All 3D features should be set to "Depend on application settings". Forced AntiAliasing can result in major slowdown in TDS. Use Multisampling in game options instead.

I'm using an XFX Radeon HD5670 and T3 runs just fine for me without any mods or tweaks.
The HD5770 is even more powerful than my card, so there shouldn't be any problems, but since there are, I wouldn't blame the game. It's probably a driver issue.
Try different driver versions and if you install the CCC, don't go messing around with it's default settings. That will cause trouble every time.
I don't bother installing CCC and I don't have any problems.
Check here if you want to tweak the game: (
