heya taffers!
since ive gotten into speedrunning over the last month, and ive been looking for a new game to "break". i thought that the awkward mess called thief3 might be a great place to find some fun and generally interesting glitches and skips. ive already spend some time finding some basic... strange... behavior (video links below). but since i never really gotten into t3 as a casual game i thought it a good idea to ask some of the more experienced guys.
so my question: what kind of odd, strange or outright buggy behavior have you observed in your previous thief3 playthroughs?
so far i have:
the good old hovering above the floor, and grabbing objects in motion: (

the things im looking for primarily are instances of going somewhere where youre not supposed to. that may be falling through the floor, climbing invisible walls, or other thangeness like that.
and something for the guys that have been editing om's: is is possible to enter missions without actually progressing in the story. for example by walking through walls in the hubworld? or things similar to that.

During my run of Thief 3 I noticed that sometimes if you try to mantle on a railing(or similar object), you can clip through the world. This could be used to skip an entire area, or access an area you're not intended to.

awesome. that confirms the suspicions i had. now to find a spot where that actually works. ive not had much luck with clipping in the first level. (for example grabbing the bloodstone opal before doing anything else)

seems like there is the possiblity for 2 big skips in the hubworlds. you can climb over the walls into the south quarter > docks portal, but that gets you permanently stuck behind a gate on the other side.
or and much more interesting: there is a way to reach the keeper library portals in stonemarket. but sadly not to activate them due to a wall. all on day1 of course.

as a general glitch: items like boxes and barrels that you can pick up and place in the world will loose their physics if you save and load while holding them. this allows for the construction of endless staircases upwards.
