Well it isn't Eric Brosius.
It is a dude named (
http://www.earcom.net/index.html) Paul Weir from a company called earcom.

We're delighted to announce that Earcom's director, Paul Weir, will be directing and producing the audio for Eidos Montreal's Thief 4. The previous Thief games have been a benchmark in game audio quality and we're thrilled to have the opportunity to push the boundaries of interactive audio with this latest version.
Looking at the games this company has worked, on I can see the link to Eidos Montreal.
They worked on Constantine.
This game is the only PC game (though it was cross platform) made by the studio that Mario Aguerra, who is team lead on Thief 4, headed up.
I bought Constantine last month to see what Mario' games are like.
It is truly abominable, an execrable bag of shite I'm afraid.
To be fair though, I didn't pay any attention to the sound, only the gameplay.
When I get back home next week I'll fire it up again and have a good listen.
With thanks to acridrose over on Thief4, at Eidos who found the info.

Wow, big news... and unfortunately it's a bit hard to call earcom's resume impressive. Lego Rockband and Lego Batman? Might be good games, but... pretty far away from Thief.

If you think about it, that's a good thing :P You shouldn't need to pay attention to the sound.

They've been working on this for how long and they only now gotten an audio director?

It is an ill omen..:erm:

I was under the impression they were still in pre-production of the game, so starting sound design wouldn't be their biggest priority.
Then again, I don't actually know exactly when sound design begins on most games.

I agree, I don't think it's too alarming that this is only happening now.

Disappointing that they didn't get Eric Brosius.

This is how the small team's gonna get the game made...outsourcing. Square-Enix doing the curtscenes and earcom trying to take Thief's unique sound design to another level.
The earcom article also has a link to theif4.com--that's right, a typo that goes to an unofficial page.:tsktsk::p
