Hello again. :D
It's probably no coincidence that Terry Pratchett's a Thief fan, Thief is a niche market with a quiet cult following, that Discworld Noir has a small dedicated following, and here you are.
I can't speak for anybody else, nor stave off the trolls, but anything you might share--anecdotes (or media)--is welcome, if it pleases you. Again, thank you.

If you ask very nicely, I might be able to dig out mp3s of the music...

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys. It's slightly intimidating working on a project with such obsessive fans but I am listening.
Welcome, don't forget dedicated as well. This game has stood the test of time, the fans know what they like, and keep coming back for more. The sound is an integral part of thief. Games out there today, still cannot compare to the sounds of Thief.

I've often described the older titles as just looking and sounding so unique and wonderfully weird that I was thankful for a game that was about hiding in shadows and waiting so I could just be still and soak in the sights and sounds--when I wasn't fixed upon the death strolling my way.

:) I'd love to hear anything you could provide too.
It amazes me that Kate Robbins does all the female voices in DWN, she portrayed the film Noir dame very well. I was surprised to find out Samael was played by Brydon, I think it's the only time I've heard him sing. (Another video for reference: (

I guess Thief is Discworld's more serious cousin. That they are so unique (in respect to each other) certainly shows the power of the genre.

This was my first game (apart from some work I did on Discworld II) and my equipment was very limited, just a Kurzweil K2000 and a Roland Sound Canvas. Dem were the days...

Ooo. Forty-five tracks! :)
Also, anecdotal information is also considered a generous gift around here, Guv'!
Thanks for every little thing, Sir.

Funnily enough I bought Discworld Noir a couple of days ago.
I'm a big Pratchett fan, have never played this and thought I'd have a listen
I still haven't gone back to Constantine, and listened to the sound. I only managed an 1hr because of the gameplay.
Haven't got Discworld running on my Win7 laptop yet but no matter if I don't, I've access to an WinME machine.

Welcome to the fora and good luck with your job. Most likely you will not have the time to play the previous games but I wish you the best of luck in trying to give us a nice and atmospheric steam punk experience.

Well, Guv, we're dying to hear that things are progressing well and that we will hear familiar voices and characters or not. With an interview with Stephane saying the game currently plays in 10 hours, I'm hoping that also means sounds and conversations are implemented that aren't all temp sounds or placeholders. With Kyle saying he's just come back from London, I hope it means there was a meeting with you and/or associates. Sorry, it's been undead here since March, really.
