According to the Thief series wiki page - Thief 4 should have its first debut, (or at least discussion) with Sound Designer Paul Weir at this year's Game Developer's Conference which starts on February 28. Lets hope this is right, and we will get a taste of what is to come!

Incorrect assumption, too. Thief 4 is not debuting. Just the method for how the game will generate sound and how the industry should look into adopting its model. There's always the chance EM will change their mind, but it's just one of Paul's talks.

It's not that incorrect. It'd be pretty unusual to have a GDC talk about a specific system for a specific game, and not have any sort of on-stage demonstration of the system (and thus, the game). The talk is 'Generative Music in Thief' not 'Generative Music in Games.'

And GDC is actually a smarter place to debut a game than E3. At GDC they can host a full talk with press and other industry folks specifically about one game. At E3 it would get a chunk of the Squeenix press conference, and maybe some press-only hands-off demo, and then get lost in the crush of the ten thousand other games getting announced and demoed that day.
