when will win7 released?
I hope vista can be upgraded to 7. I hate to install every software after....
Thief2 works fine for me in vista and it is the only thief game i got installed due to the number fan missions. I wonder if it will stil work after an upgrade (no installation) on vista.
The XP mode looks promising for the previous thief games.

xp service pack 3 causes the t3main to crash, but ionloader still loads the level, and you can then play it to the end, then ionloader reloads the t3main, then it crashes again on starting the next level, but ionloader loads. next level as in each map change in missions and the city hub. it probably crashed cause I couldn't set the affinity to one core from four, there sometype of auto resize built into the game so you cant min it to get to the task manager, it wont stay minimized. and thief 3 sits on top of all windows so you can't get to the task manager the other way either.

We really should get a group of taffers together and test out the Windows 7 RC to see if Thief runs OK on it. System shock too, I suppose.

We have to remember that Amazon are the same people who let us pre-order Duke Nukem Forever (complete with description, screenshots and box art circa 2001) shortly after 3D Realms went under.

We should also remember. You never, and never is the operative, pay up front. Except for Jerk-in-the-box, Macfatty, or other fast food operations. :ebil:

Except for the SP3 inclusion it might work. But I've heard that SP3 also screws with THIEF.
I know that it freezes my computer which is why I use selective updates and went back to SP2.
Not if you have the Indeo codec files. I have a computer running Win XP SP3 and Thief kept giving me problems, but as soon as I installed the Indeo codec files, the problems were gone and I can run Thief on my modern computer.
But I use darkloader, because I run Thief 1 and 2 fan Missions. I am not crazy about TDS, so I do not run fan missions for it.
