Thank you Dante. I am now reassured.
I don't like apnea.

His "sources" are garbage, and he's being irresponsible, as well as way behind the times. Someone should look into that accountability thing.
What, responsibility on the internet? Hahaha, good one.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but who is this 'apnea' and whom are her 'sources'? Or was that quote meant to illustrate T4 rumor-mongering? Sorry; I'm always a tad slow on cold, rainy days.
'Machine-gunning arrows'??? OhGoodLord
NO!!!!!
It's an anonymous source quoting an anonymous source. AKA rumors. I got a little spooked from it, but then I'm known to be skittish about these things these days. Not sure exactly what to make of the small infobits we get out of Montreal, so I wanted you guys to reassure me.
I committed the sin of spreading the unsubstantiated fear in this case. OTOH, I never worried about swineflu or forwarded "hoax warnings".
But regarding the machine-gunning arrows:

I wouldn't be too surprised if Thief 4 got axed if DX3 doesn't do well. I mean, they're owned by Squre/Enix now, plus the economy sucks. Here's hoping everything works out.

It's a matter of you, as a quality publishing company, not being THAT stupid.
Agreed. They wouldn't be stupid enough to turn Thief 4 into something ridiculous like apnea suggested.
:laff:

They barely just got the green light.
So aside from the OBVIOUS fact that they are far away from shipping, chances are that it will go thru many, many changes from how EM currently thinks the game will end up and how it does end up.
Remember, Gears of War was originally a first-person tactical shooter... where your squadmates could commit suicide if their depression was too high.

I wouldn't be so sure. About every fourth question we get from newcomers at The Dark Mod forums is about whether we're going to add any cool "Prince of Persia/Ninja/acrobatic" moves, like running along walls, doing backflips, or sideways somersaults. There's definitely an audience for it, and it sounds exactly like the kind of thing a company that wants "to introduce this classic franchise to new fans" by bringing "a fresh look and a fresh approach" might consider.

That is very true.
