Alright, we can all list till Doomsday what we don't want to see, or all the great things we loved about the originals. Here is the Challenge, though:
If you had only one message to send EIDOS, what is the ONE MANDATORY REQUIREMENT that MUST BE IN Thief 4?
Try to make it one line.
(You can explain it afterwards, but a one liner stating what it is.)

Level Difficulty: Normal, Hard, Expert.
There is, and never should be, an Easy level. I want that nomenclature locked down in Stone. Thief is by its very nature a challenging gaming experience.

One line, huh? 'k; here goes:
Stephen Russell's voice as Garrett with the game with the same type of TDP & TMA ambience, but with updated graphics, sound etc., but still a stealth game and all Garrett's original gear and Garrett can swim again and eating food in the game restores your health and large City maps with lots of places to explore especially with lots of Thieves Highway travelling and Garrett as the main character.
