Thief 4: the ONE Mandatory thing. - by 5tephe

I would like to see a few bits and pieces of Assassin's Creed (and upcoming Assassin's Creed II) in there; mostly the absurdly huge cities, excellent rooftop areas, multiple points of entry/exit, and some social stealth, maybe Garrett could hearken back to the time he posed as a Hammerite novice to break in a cathedral and steal the sigil or whatever it was called and be able to disguise himself to make him less conspicuous.

Its called a
talisman. Ya an undercover style mission would be a nice addition. Not so sure about the Assassin's Creed similarities though...think they would be a little out of place.

Of course, even incognito, Garrett would still have to be careful because of his eye, which is fairly distinctive. Also, that's why I said "bits and pieces." Granted, I'd love to see a Garrett with Altair's level of acrobatics, but it still wouldn't be Thiefy. Of course, knowing Ubi, they're probably going to do it anyway, they seem to love flaunting that little bit of tech they got there.

Unique, original, and immersive large-scale missions reminiscent of the T1/T2 OM's.
I found all of the T3 OM's appallingly bland, small, uninspired, and with the exception of "The Cradle," forgettable. Nearly every mission in TG and at least half of the missions in TMA are classics; missions I'll always remember and want to replay. I can't say the same for TDS. Thief 4 needs to raise the bar and give us OM's that can join the pantheon of the classics.

Get the same music designers in who did a great job with the last one!
Basically make it Deadly Shadows only a bit bigger.

Make the
music like ⓉⒹⓈ only a bit bigger?
Maybe the XBOX couldn't handle reverb?

One mandatory thing: Give Garrett a lantern...

A miner's helmet with the light in front.

Give them an inch and they'll take a mile, 5tephe.
Should've been more specific. Instead of letting everyone have a whole "line" which is so vague and flexible, you should have said "your message may only contain a single clause." As a grammatical unit a clause is very unambiguous. One subject, one predicate, one complete idea.
Here's mine:
The game has to have large, sprawling, non-linear levels with multiple possible approaches.
I would have done "It has to have Stephen Russel", but I would've wanted to specificy "...IF Garret is in it at all", but that would have been two clauses.
Call me a heretic but I wouldn't mind if Garret's not in it. His arc had closure imo and it wouldn't hurt to let that kid take over.
Yep, multiple non-linear approaches is exactly what thief 3 started taking away, the game felt like you had 1 or 2 ways at best, most of the time. Also very cramped style levels so you really didnt have open sprawling maps where you just go "ok, uhh, dont know where to start". Thief 3 had you locked down in thost tight streets and areas pretty good. Making it very linear in my opinion. But knowing Eidos, they will *build* on their latest game ideas, so they will make it similar to Thief 3, with better gfx and maybe slightly larger maps. I can bet on this 95%.
