Oh, yes. No problem then, anyone can make a Thief game, as long as they make it Thief. An admirably simple solution - if only more developers that continued franchises without the original creators had hit upon this answer, all of their fans would be happy today.

Find a proper balance between nailing the fundamentals and maintaining what made Thief special, but not mixing that up with nostalgia and ensuring that gameplay changes are made.
C'mon, I know we all love old Thief but I want something NEW here.
