Noted. I'll leave this thread now... I don't agree with your view, but I see this is not the time nor place to argue that and would get nowhere. Not to mention thread derailing... :(

What you can't agree to disagree? So, people are entitled to their views, so what? As of now, its an opinion, what we will prefer or not. We can't fully give opinions on either game because we don't HAVE THEM YET.

Fully? No. Partially? Yes. We've seen a lot of good stuff from the Dark Mod team, from its earliest days. We've seen one boundlessly stupid logo and two troubling interviews from Eidos Montreal.

Agreed, in the end, it will be interesting to compare the two games, once BOTH are released.

This is why I post this thread.
Right now I don't have money to buy Doom 3 and I'm still very curious because I want to play Tears of St. Lucia.

Definitely get Doom 3 when you can Bulgarian_Taffer! :thumb:

I was just commenting on van HellSing's post (that was my first post in this thread, with the link). What I meant with that post is to say that I believed van HellSing's negativism to be too excessive, particularly considering how little we know about Thief 4 right now. Basically, I meant to say: "Cheer up! Why so pessimistic?" Apparently, I've failed badly :(
Of course, he and others are entitled on their opinions, be it regarding the games, me, or anything else. But I also believe I should point out when I have a disagreement with them. I didn't mean to pounce on him, merely to state my opinion that he's being overly negative. I'm sorry this has led to an even worse result...
As for my second post, I was honestly requesting a clarification of what he meant (and why) which was longer than two words. I can hardly fix what I was wrong about if I don't know what it is.

The likelihood of SDKs being released for games these days, ESPECIALLY of those developed primarily for console (like Thief 4), is low.
Case in point, Bioshock and Far Cry 2. Mods could've improved this two games considerably, but there was no editor released.
They want you to buy their premium DLC, free alternatives from the community might make their official expansion content look bad.

Ahh, don't worry about it. I'm neutral on Thief 4 myself. If he wants to be negative, let him. You stay positive if that what makes you happy. We can only hope right? :)

btw. I do understand negativism to a point - there were certain things in the announcements which don't look terribly hopeful. So I'm not exactly optimistic myself... I was merely stating that I thought the amount of pessimism he had
excessive. :)
