The only way it's going to end well:
-Eidos Montreal makes the concepts
-Eidos Montreal writes the scripts
-Eidos Montreal acts as the artistic directors
-Eidos Montreal directs the cinematics
-Eidos Montreal acts as the audio department
-Square produces the animation itself

Actually, that's
exactly what
is happening!

Did you just confirm to the internets that Square Enix really is doing the animation for Thief 4, René? ;)

:)
Honestly, at this point I feel like you guys at EM are really doing your best to do good justice to the original titles while complying to the obligatory requirements of the 'modern gaming world'*. Please do the latter as little as possible, never forget you are designing games for adults and don't fear to let the player find his way and understand mechanics by himself. Let fresh but balanced and well thought-out concepts breathe in the games, involve as many intelligent people as possible in the design process. Great things will happen.
While I may not agree with the too much Masamune Shirow-ish design you seem to be going for DX3, I applaud your PR sincerity and the overall impression of commitment that the studio demonstrates.
* notably: accessibility, streamlining and maximum visual impact

What's the point in bothering Square Enix, then? :eww:

In case you forgot, Squeenix owns Eidos. Also: Never turn down an opportunity to use someone else's renderfarm free of charge.

Maybe it's because they're really good at making pre-rendered cutscenes?
