They see what they want to see. They don't see the hundreds of "purists'" suggestions for elements never seen in a Thief game. They want to keep their console titles purely dumbed-down and extra noisy, ironically. Wanting a richer, deeper, not extra superficial experience, is threatening to them.
So, are they getting other voice-actors for other languages, or are they going to subtitle all the other languages?

For realz - I know for sure, Polish version is going to have subtitles only.

We should all vow to them that if they release a Russell voice pack DLC, we'd all be willing to pay $9.99 or $19.99 or something for it, and if they don't at least provide an option like that... we'll either skip Thief 4 entirely, or obtain it in ways they may be less pleased about.

I signed it. I don't think it's the end of the world, but hell, I would like to have old Garrett back.
Though what would consider as "bigger" exactly?

I can think of dozens of console games that were quiet, subtle, difficult, cerebral, and yet still sold enough copies to go platinum certified.
What you want isn't a rare thing. Don't think for a second that it's we chosen few against the drooling masses. There are millions of people like us. It's why Thief sold so well in the past. It's why they're making a new one now.

Well, if we're truly entitled to our own opinion, then ..... sorry; no Stephen Russell, no Garrett. Changing actors may have worked well for Batman and Superman, but imo IT JUST WON'T BE GARRETT (& btw, it didn't work well for Lara either, imo). I don't give a flying rat's butt how you try to justify/rationalize the change (did they really think we wouldn't notice?), it just won't be a true Thief game for me - especially if EM's spiced up Garrett's moves & have him parkouring all over town & imitating AC & Gods know what other recently released platform games heroes. I really doubt if I'll be standing in any lines to buy this one. Learned my lesson with TDS and boy did that sting! It may very well turn out to be a decent game in the opinion of some, but for me it won't be Thief, no matter how much EM insists it is. T2X was a decent game, but Garrett wasn't the protagonist and I really was rather disappointed by that. And that damned little hammer. It just wasn't the same kind of Thief-like experience I had when I played TDP, TMA & their respective numerous FMs. (I absolutely do NOT intend to insult the devs of T2X - just my opinion, mind you. You guys did a great job, regardless of my personal feelings about the FM/game.)
So go ahead and give T4 the benefit of the doubt. I don't have to. From what updates EM's released so far, I'm looking forward to the accursed thing less and less.
And yes; I'm in a really, really crappy mood right now, so off with their frakkin' heads an be done with it.
