Just... for the purposes of public record, I would like to take a moment to point out that (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140979) I spotted this a month ago. Right down to the rationale (complete performance mo-cap).
*Ahem*
I'm done patting myself on the back, now, I swear.
I will reiterate: No Stephen Russell, no sale.

Yep, 2 responses, then deleted within 10 minutes by that goon B1skit. Explain
that one theifessa... I'm PMed him for an answer, not expecting one though.
What is it you wish me to explain?

...but then again... there have been success stories with petitions before. One thing is certain; they can't happen if everyone thinks like you are.
I agree with this. Something might happen. Something might not. It won't hurt to try.
As much as I sit on the middle leaning towards Stephen Russell side of the fence, I do realize that having him back would at least make a nice bridge between old Thief and new. Make it easier for some people to accept the changes, and maybe actually like New Thief for what it brings to the series, rather than hating it for what it fails to carry on with.

I'll admit, I wanted to hate this game so bad and be angry with them for changing it, but almost everything I've seen about the game suggests to me that I'm wrong, and before I make my final judgment call I have to have even more information]
Huh.
I never wanted to hate this game. With every interview, I see things I like, but I see more I don't in key areas. The cold tone, and cryptic changes, and silence that settled over René, and then added to and taken over by snark and arrogance and ignorance of the previous years by the next community manager, and the wiseass attitudes of the EM collective, my enthusiasm and cautious optimism was ground into the dirt. I never wanted it to fail, but it's failed me inch by inch in big ways we already
know about, without having to buy it or play it. No one's writing off the game over
one thing, but a
collection of things. Get that s*** straight.
Also, we've been told we are wasting out time with every petition. Look how know one cares. The petition serves more than one purpose. It doesn't matter at all you don't want to bother.

Can't believe I actually have to explain this, but OK, why not.
Why was my thread deleted on the Eidos Thief boards when I didn't violate the TOU?

Threads are not always deleted because they violated the ToU... it might be that they are not wanted.
Was it a poll thread? If so, admin/EM don't want them, I guess.

My sentiments exactly, jtr. With every new bit of T4 news I read, every video I see, I become more and more disenchanted and disappointed. No Stephen Russell is the straw that just might break the camel's back. I wanted to love this game, but I'm having the same gut feeling I had when I started playing TDS - not good. And the damned thing hasn't even been released yet.

What? How
dare you accuse EM of deleting threads! There's just some weird glitch where they disappear after a minute. They would
never censor us, what do they have to fear from us?
Why would they ever squander public opinion?
Don't blame EM for the glitch, just keep trying, it's a really important poll since there's plenty of people who just lurk and never post on the forums for varying reasons. Don't give up just yet.

Welcome to the last few years, taffers! You've just experienced first-hand what several of us already went through. Now you know where we've been coming from as we sniped at that site.
