And if they lied about that, what else have they lied about? What else is EM simply providing as lip service to the fans?
Anything at this point. For all we know, they might decide to scrap the bow at the last minute and give Garrett a gun instead. I wouldn't put anything past them after this.

I did the same thing, unfortunately HR turned out to be a poorly balanced popamole shooter slightly worse than Invisible War, and I regret having given them my money to this day.
But it was better than 90% of anything that had released for several years, so I understand why people are still viewing it as some sort of indication that Eidos Montreal isn't full of loudmouthed hacks. Hopefully the growing hilarity of TEEFGate finally disabuses them of this misconception.
You have my heart sir

Hey. I just saw that Azaran lives in Montreal. Why don't we get him to sneak into EM and see what the hell is going on. Maybe he can get a screenshot for us or something.
I actually work a 2 minute walk away from there right downtown. I passed by there a couple of times but always figured they don't allow visitors and they'd probably have some security guy escort me out. I will be on the lookout for playtesting announcements, if they're having one I'll sign up. This girl I know tested Deux Ex for them a couple of years back.

Is there a proper petition for Stephen Russell to come back? I mean we could try and get as many people as we can and hopefully maybe they will listen to us or Stephen Russell may respond back.
jtr7 on 3/4/2013 at 05:46
If the petition we have isn't proper enough as just a collection of easily countable disappointed voices, you may have to make another one and post the link.

You know, you guys do realize that the whole Hitman:Absolution thing over changing the voice-actor was just a really lame marketing ploy to get a shit load of free publicity by riling up the fans, right?
... and this Stephen Russell/Garrett things stinks pretty highly of rubes-and-carnies to me.
Hypevosa on 3/4/2013 at 06:00
seems like the petition is going to reach 200 signatures within a few hours. BAM one thousand dollars down the drain instantly. It's rare to see money lost so quickly if you aren't at the stock exchange.

That's like saying "You know. I really don't like this of peanut butter. It's too crunchy, and doesn't appeal to me at all. Instead, I'm gonna scarf down this big bowl of dog crap cuz...you know...it's not crunchy like that stupid peanut butter was".
"...oh no. Corn".
Okay, I've been following this thread for 10 pages, I'm very firmly in the "If it's not Stephen Russell, it's not Garrett" camp, but this above is the best thing in this whole thread. I'm still giggling. :-)

Well if there's one thing to be learned from all of this backlash it's that if this game doesn't sell like gangbusters no other studio is going to touch this franchise with a ten foot pole.
I look forward to playing the game and judging it for myself when it's finally released and although I know there is a good possibility there isn't going to be that 'magic' the original two games had I don't think hardcore fans will accept any new game even if Looking Glass themselves were resurrected as a studio and given the budget to make the game exactly how they wanted to. Even then people would pick it apart as being a poor entry into the series :laff:
Although they seem to be going about it the wrong way I can see the Thief fanbase being a nightmare to deal with as a game developer. It's how they are totally bungling how they handle it that will ultimately just make it worse.
I hope as much as anyone else that the game will be good - but if it's not a return to form I think my world will continue spinning.
