Who do you think should be the main character and/or (because you'll probably go there anyways) who do you expect will actually be the main character of the upcoming Thief game?
Will it be our faithful tried and true anti-hero Garrett, a child who grows up to take Garrett's place as the new world renowned Master Thief, some unbelievably well-endowed female taffer, a series of different characters throughout the game, or perhaps a remarkably sneaky frog-beast? Oh, oh, how about the Trickster incarnate? Wait, that's a terrible idea!
Hows about you just tell me what you think.

I really can't envision Thief without Garrett. Honestly, he make it. Stephen Russell's voice acting combined with the character's traits are one of the defining characteristics of the series.

I can only accept the idea if it's a departure from the story we have, the timeline, the setting, and there's an all new construction to make it possible for another thief with roughly the same abilities as Garrett without any of his background or exceptional qualities that impressed the Keepers. To make a new character that can do what Garrett does without his background, and with the same backdrop, makes no sense, and diminishes so much of what the devs built.
Garrett, or start over from scratch.

He would be hot, and he would be immortal, and when hurt he could flee so fast as if someone lit a fire under... heey, someone actually did just that!!! Oh boy, isn't he the coolest hottest ever?! :joke:

I still don't understand. Why is it that when Thief 2 and Deadly Shadows were on the way, the thought of having a different protagonist never crossed anyone's mind but now when we've had 3 games with the same awesome main character everyone starts wondering whether the main character will be the main character? :tsktsk:
"Christmas has been celebrated in some form for about 3000 years, maybe more. Always around the time of december 25th. I just wonder if christmas will come this year? Somehow I have this strange hunch that it's much less likely to come than usually."
-Or should I start making threads too about subjects like: "Will Thief 4 take place on Mars instead of the City?" or "Will this game have a gun that reverses the gravity of the object you shoot it at?" or "Will Thief 4 be a tabletop game? ...That runs on gasoline?"

Platinumoxicity- Honestly, it's just something fun to think about while we wait. Obviously, chances are pretty high that it's going to be Garrett. And I'm sure we're all happy with that. But who really knows? If it wasn't Garrett, who would you want it to be? And if they don't choose Garrett, does that guarantee the game will be a failure?
